This is an extremely high quality, good looking pickguard for only $10. There is no need to spent $40 on this, this is one very nicely done. The bevel is clean and all of the holes line up perfectly. I purchased a Fender Crafted in Japan Jazz Bass off of Reverb, and this was the first modification that I did the day I received it. I ordered the pickguard in advance and honestly wasn't expecting much, given the reviews, but this thing is perfect. Take note that this won't fit unless you have a Crafted in Japan / Made in Japan Jazz Bass. I can verify that it indeed fits the Crafted in Japan version of this bass, which were made for the domestic Japanese market, and not for export. If you have this model, it will say "MADE IN JAPAN" in small print on the front of the headstock. I assume that it also works for the Made in Japan models intended for export - but I don't 100 percent know if there were slight differences in screw placement between them, since the two models were built for Fender at different plants.I feel super cool now with my black on black Jazz bass. Honestly, this pickguard is nicer than the black alternate pickguard included with my Fender JMJ Mustang. The black shade was slightly different to the black of the nitro body, and it's not as cute as it could have been for that reason. I was expecting similar with this third party pickguard for the Jazz bass, but heck if its not exactly the same shade of glossy black as the body, giving an impression of seamlessness and attention to detail. I'm super impressed with this product and recommend giving it a try.

The holes on the pickguard did not line up to the holes on my Fender Jazz Bass, rendering it useless. I could have drilled new holes in the bass to line up the holes to the new pickguard, but that isn't what any of us want to do, in case we would want to change the pickguard at a later date. Buyer beware!

The Pickguard that I received fit almost perfectly, except for around the neck pocket area. All screw holes lined up, etc. Good value for the money, but not perfect. What do you want for $12.00?

This fit my 1984 Japanese Squier Jazz Bass. All the holes lined up and no filing or alterations needed. This would not fit my Indonesian Squier VM Jazz Bass, so I wouldn't buy this for modern Squier Jazz Basses. The tortoise shell looks decent, not as nice as some high end shell guards. But I wasn't expecting that for the price.This is a good pickguard choice for 80s MIJ Jazz Basses. I'd buy again in a different color if I was looking for a new look.

It’s nice that it’s cheap. The screw holes don’t exactly line up with my Japanese Geddy Lee signature bass. Most of the screws took some coaxing to get in. The corner where the electronics cover is was pretty tight. The two screws on the bass side of the neck pocket aren’t even close to fitting. Given the choice between two missing screws or drilling holes, I just didn’t install them.

The edges were a little rough and it was warped. It will require edge cleanup and if you can store it on a flat surface with some weight on it to flatten it out.

Comes with screws included which is just an added bonus. Not a perfect match but it fits my G&L.

All of the holes lined up on my MIJ jazz bass. Did interfere slightly with the metal control plate for the knobs, but I was able to make it fit without any sanding/modifications just by loosening the screws of the control plate, tightening the pickguard in place, and then resecuring the control plate screws.

Precisei de alguns ajustes pois os furos estavam com todas as medidas certas, porém um pouco rotacionadas e relação ao escudo, essa rotação ficou um pouco evidente na região da cavidade de mão no torculo, mas nada que deixasse o baixo feio.
