- The MV-90 is designed for when the vent path takes a 90 degree turn, such as down through the floor, up through the ceiling, or off to the side.
- The MV-90 can handle offsets up to 3 inches from center to center. The more accurately you line up the MV-90 with the vent on the back of your dryer, the better the vent path and the further back you can locate your dryer. Normally, the MV-90 requires 5 1/2 inches of clearance behind the dryer. If an obstruction necessitates you locate the MV-90 at the maximum 3 inch offset, then your dryer will need to sit out an additional 3 inches to allow for a bend radius in the transition duct.
- Same wall offsets greater than 9 inches: Simply mount the MV-90 directly behind your dryer, plug the 90 degree elbow into the wall vent, and measure for the required length of rigid metal pipe between them. Make sure to measure from where the pipe will stop on the MV-90 to the stop on the male end of the rigid metal pipe.
- Close vent offsets between dryer and wall vent located on same wall as dryer (Offsets between 0-3 inches): If your same wall offset is between 0 and 3 inches, then the MV-180 is the product for you.

If your dryer is under a heavy counter (ie granite) of some kind like ours this is a really helpful venting solution. Once you’ve installed the two sides the magnets will automatically seat as they get close forming an air tight seal. It can be pulled out for cleaning or service and then just pushed back into place. You definitely hear it when those magnets connect. I was concerned about the flex hose on the dryer side but according to MagVent specs the flex transition hose is UL 2158A rated so it seems like no worries with code. Our venting path is downward into the basement and then over to the wall. The 90 degree MagVent was the only possible solution given our 2x4 framing and in-wall obstructions. I ran it through the floor, extended it slightly and then connected it to a Dryer-ELL 90 to minimize run length penalties. The net was a safe installation and clean look.

Arrived the next day after I ordered it. Easy to install. Took longer to clean up the lint that had leaked out behind the old connection than it did to install new connection. 1' flex hose that attaches to dryer allowed easy magnetic connection to 90 elbow that goes down into our basement. Our dryer did not line up exactly with original vent pipe that was installed by previous owner. It was almost impossible to get dryer to line up with old 90 & not leak. Magnets seal well & 1' flex hose allowed easy connection for mis-aligned vent pipe. Wish I had found this product earlier!!

The MvV-90 is a terrific solution to the dryer vent problem. This is a high quality, very well made, and innovative product. Installation was very easy, and due to its simplicity, works perfectly. I highly recommend this product!

MagVent MV-90 Magnetic Dryer Vent Coupling was the answer to hooking up a dryer in a tight space to an outgoing vent run through the basement. I installed mine in interior wall after removing the old 90 degree adjustable elbow. It fit perfectly into the 4" pipe. The MagVent MV-90 doesn't require much more space than the old elbow. Easy install for the average handyman. Excellent product!
