The build quality of this thing is excellent. It is very flexible and the outside is sturdy. It's so sturdy that it will fold your scissor if you're trying to cut a slit on the opening. Don't do that.Installation on the Dryer side is easy enough since it is smaller than the duct. The clamp is easy to screw and provides confident inspiring fit.Installation on the wall side is much to be desired though. The opening is almost the same size as the duct and the duct has to rest outside of the opening. The sturdiness of the outside cladding is the bane of this duct. I can't cut slit to make it open wider. I had to forcefully jam it in and it goes about halfway the width of the clamp. I felt that this will have to do as it felt secure enough after I tighten the clamp.Aside from that, the installation was pretty simple for a DIY project. I recon it can probably expand the duct if I apply a heatgun or hairdryer to it but I didn't have access to one at the time.

Functionality is good. The color of the hose was very clean! The quality is exceptional has a good fit and I like the thickness. I believe this will have good long-term durability.

Overall, this is a very good product to replace your old, cheap aluminum dryer hose. It's sturdy and the PVC coating makes it much easier to work with. It also contracts much better than most hoses. When in place, we only have about 10 inches between the dryer and the vent outlet, so we got tired of the "standard" 6 to 8 foot hose that was curled up behind the dryer. We ordered the 3-foot length of this hose just to give enough distance for an easy install. The hose now contracts to the exact length that we need. We like the dark color which blends in better and is less industrial looking and we were pleased that the needed clamps are included.As per many other reviews, the fit on the dryer side is normal and easy to clamp. However, the 4-inch fit over a 4-inch rigid, steel vent hood is a challenge. Others seem to have been able to force the hose partially over the hood and clamp in place. We were not so lucky. The hose would absolutely not go over the hood. And knowing that scissors were of no use, we used tin snips to cut about a quarter-inch slit in the end of the hose. Voila. Went over the hood perfectly and allowed sufficient coverage to clamp on securely. Obviously, it would be great if this hose could be made so that one end was slightly larger in diameter, but as is we are happy with this hose upgrade.

Purchased this because the regular hoses don't hold up to my cat walking on it (no clue why he does). He would rip the thin foil, had to keep replacing. This had been a back saver.. now I don't have to move the washer and dryer every few months to replace. Also it is longer then the ones from the hardware stores, which helps tremendously..

After trying 2 other vents that tore easily, my husband and I researched a more substantial option. Independent of each other, we both landed on this choice after reading highly rated reviews. My husband said it was quick and easy to install and did not feel as fragile as the ones we purchased from our hardware store. We are very pleased with this product!

I used this to connect my dryer to the vent I put in my apartment. Works fine. Seems very durable.
