I added these to one side of my binders so I can hook directly to the J-hook. Doing so gains an extra 4 or 5 inches when securing an extra wide coil or plates on the flatbed. It makes a huge difference. I left the original 3/8 hook on the binder and added this along side in case I might need the smaller hook. I did have to grind a small bit so I could fit onto 3/8 chain but easy to do. Other than that, installing was a breeze.

Needed these to hook to our heavy equipment and they worked perfectly, will be ordering these for all trucks in future.

If you need the hook that grips back on the chain, not so much. But these hooks simplify securing anything that has a 1" anchor point hole. An it works fine securing to stake pocket boxes. Too small for the round anchors under the rub rail. Saves me about an hour when chaining the 1 inch hole anchor point loads though and pairs nice with some 5/8 shackles.

Use these with a short chain and a quick ratchet to tie down my skid steer and excavator. They work perfectly.

Good quality hook. The hooks have grade 70 stamped on them and work well with 3/8" chain for equipment tie down.
