I use a ceramic kiln to heat up my crucibles to melt copper and these worked perfectly for reaching down inside the kiln at temperatures above 1500° and it made it super easy to pour it felt like I had a really good grip on everything the cost I feel is high but everything else that is like it is also around the same price range so I think it’s in the market it is it is good price for the market but I do think that for tongs it is priced pretty high they are built very well the withstand heat You’re a great size and weight

The crucible died after one day of use, it had only melted 2-3 crucibles before it just cracked I was lucky it didn’t spill all over the furnace!Update they replaced them and the new ones are much better guess it was a bad batch/issue with that one

The tongs seem pretty nice. There's very little flex in them and they grip the included crucibles very securely. Highly recommend these (or something like them) if you're using tongs that grip around the lip of a crucible on only one side. The furnace I bought came with tongs intended to be used like that and they bent after one use. Pretty dangerous to use something like that, and your life is worth the money that these nicer tongs cost. Just make sure to follow the instructions for how to use them, specifically the parts about the notches in the lifting tongs being flush with the top of the crucible, and the 90 degree tab on the pouring tongs also being flush with the top of the crucible. Don't light yourself on fire.I haven't used the crucibles yet.

The handles are in two sections. I would like a more secure fastening system, but aside from that they do the job well if you are cautious with them.

The tongs and lifter are easy to use, the handles are quite long once assembled. The crucibles look good and were packed very well.

Impressed at the quality of the tongs, looks to be stainless steel jaws and aluminum handles. I was expecting some thin cheep crap but there actually thick high quality extruded aluminum and are extremely solid. Quite impressed

I have not used them in anger yet, too hot here in Australia ATM. Impressed with the overall quality,laser cut stainless steel that fits the supplied crucibles perfectly.
