My Hi-Lift is mounted on the hood of my TJ. It's exposed to all the elements. This cover should help protect the climbing pins from corrosion and gunk.

It does not fit perfectly, but it's not a custom cover. Protects the jack from rain and mud, which is all I care about.

So far this has been a great purchase. My hi-lift lives on the front of my truck and therefore is exposed to all the elements. The last time I had to use it I noticed just how stiff all the moving parts had gotten. It was honestly pretty difficult to use. Having cleaned and oiled it, the jack now works like new and so it seemed a good idea to protect the sensitive moving parts in order to keep it working well for longer. The fit and finish of this item seem every bit as good as a more expensive model purchased by a friend of mine. Neither this nor my friend's cover will last forever, of course. Between the water, mud, and UV light they're constantly exposed to they will eventually break down and need replacement. However, I'd wager this will give the more expensive version a run for its money on longevity and if by chance it get destroys while we're out in the field I won't feel nearly as bad about having to replace it.

I had to fiddle with this cover to get it to fit right. Once I did it was OK. There were no instructions or illustrations included with the product. Amazons listing of this jack cover indicates that you are supposed to zip it from the top down. If you tried to zip it this way you might have stretched the cover and got it on the jack but would have stressed the zipper and the fit would have been bad. No wonder there are several bad reviews relating to broken zippers and bad fit. Also by zipping from the top down the extra neoprene padding would have been on the wrong side of the jack head and not protecting the pins and other important parts of the jack head. I simply turned the cover "upside down" and zipped it from the bottom up. This way the fit was good and the pins and other working parts better protected. I also note that several of the photos provided by other reviewers showed their covers being zipped from the bottom up. So they must have figured it out as well.The neoprene is pretty thin and the zipper looks cheesy but it should be adequate to keep most dust and dirt off my jack and keep jack lubricant off my other gear. I keep my jack mounted on my bed rail inside my truck topper so it won't be constantly exposed to the elements. I wouldnt recommend this cover for those who mount their jack on the exterior of their rig.
