When I started using this VCR cleaner, it didn't seem to do anything. Plus, it was difficult to rewind. But then, I tested my copy of "The Long Goodbye." That tape used to squeak, crank, and barely play. The image was completely distorted, and would stop working all together. After using the tape cleaner a couple of times, it played perfectly. No squeak, no distortion, plays right through.I'm impressed with this cleaner.

This product does help with the grainy spots due to the vcr but it's like a clean only so you'll have to use it multiple times before you see results. It does work but certain things can't be fixed so do be aware of that. Might be your vcr that needs to be clean internally.

I'd been using an old VCR machine to listen to movies while embroidering. Threw in one tape that would not play and got the notice that the heads needed cleaning. Forgot all about that! These "dry" head cleaners arrived right away and, although I had to run it through twice (who knows what was with that used tape I bought?) the machine works as well now as before.

Hopefully I may return the item for a refund. One run-through was not enough to do the job. The tape only ran for a short time--not nearly long enough to clean the heads of the tape player. I needed to run this cleaner tape at least one additional time (or maybe two or three times. However, it would not rewind automatically (as it should when it reached the end). And it would not re-wind when I used the "rewind button" on my tape player nor would it re-wind when I used the "rewind button" on my remote control.

The cleaner cassette might be functioning. I put it in the VCR, which makes some tape moving noises for a while and then shuts off. It came with zero documentation or instructions on usage.

VHS's went from looking terrible completely fuzzy on a black screen, to looking crystal clear and vivid. We had to do it a few times, though, and we had to use a q-tip with alcohol on the white tape inside the "crust" area of the VHS. Not sure of the technical terms, but that's what we had to do a few times after the picture was still a little fuzzy.

Bought because I got a used vcr and the picture quality wasn't great. Used this and the picture quality was back to the way it should be. It worked great
