NICHE CYLINDER
- ATV engines come with either one or two cylinders

NICHE PISTON
An ATV piston is a component of engines, pumps, and gas compressors. It is located in a cylinder and is made gas-tight by piston rings. In an engine, its purpose is to transfer force from expanding gas in the cylinder to the crankshaft through a piston rod and or connecting rod
Piston Anatomy
A piston is a cylindrical engine component that slides back and forth in the cylinder bore by forces produced during the combustion process. The piston acts as a movable end of the combustion chamber. The stationary end of the combustion chamber is the cylinder head.
Piston Components
ATV Piston components include the piston head, piston pin bore, piston pin, skirt, ring grooves, ring lands, and piston rings. The piston head is the top surface of the piston which is subjected to tremendous forces and heat during normal engine operation
NICHE GASKET
A gasket is a mechanical seal which fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression.
Some Types of Gaskets:
- Head gaskets create a seal between the engine block and cylinder head. This seal establishes a proper compression and prevents fluid leaks into the cylinders
- Base gaskets create a seal between the top-end of your engine and the engine cases. Stop pesky engine oil leaks before they cause permanent damage to your engine.
- The valve cover is sealed to the upper section of the engine cylinder head by a valve cover gasket. As it passes around the camshafts, rockers, and valves, the gasket stops engine oil from seeping out.

Had to do an upper rebuild for a ‘98 fixer upper foreman that I got that had low compression. This kit was perfect, everything fit together nicely, and seems to be of good quality especially for the price! Got it all back together and it cranked right up! Strong performance too!! Runs great now!!

Purchased this kit to refresh and "big bore" a 1999 400 Foreman that is still smoking quite a bit after valve seal replacement.Kit came nicely packaged with everything shown in the product images.Took some quick measurements and they turned out surprisingly good. (see attached spreadsheet)Head mating surface was nice and flat.Docked one star for some casting flash left over in the pushrod area that can easily be cleaned out with a deburring tool or a Dremel. (images attached)Not expecting any issues with this kit following factory manual installation procedures and will update if there are problems.

I had just installed this kit and it has started already to smoke and lose power. This was my third ride with this kit and it has not lasted as long as I though it would. I already contacted the seller and left a message about this issue and see if their warranty is worth anything. I'll update this review once this is resolved or not.
