Works just as needed. I bought a use E6330 that came with a 240 GB SSD in the primary. I wanted to dual boot using a second SSD so I got this to replace the cd drive. Piece of cake to install and looks fine (although the light is a little bright). Speeds seem fine as I can boot Manjaro or Ubuntu Studio in a matter of seconds.

It's perfect! Fits and works like a charm on my Dell E6430. I plugged it in and it just worked. No extra setup or anything.

I've been using this caddy with a 500GB WD Scorpio Black in a Dell Latitude E6320 ever since I got an SSD as a primary hard drive and it's working flawlessly. Really the only flaw if you could call it that is that it's aesthetically a little off--the plastic cover is a different kind (and seems like a lower grade) of plastic than the rest of the laptop (and compared to the cover on the DVD drive that came factory installed) so if that kind of thing would bother you maybe you should look further. Personally, it doesn't really bother me since the price tag of about $20 more than makes up for it and I didn't really expect it to look perfect at this price. The most important thing for me is that the HDD I put in it (WD5000BPKT: 2.8 in x 3.9 in x 0.4 in) fits snugly in the caddy and that the caddy itself fits snugly in the modular bay.

I’m using this in my work Dell E6530 laptop. I wanted to have my own personal OS to boot to and using this and a SSD I was able to install Windows 10 and dual boot. I was worried about the fit and finish, but it fits nice. I really don’t miss the optical drive at all, but I keep it in my bag, for the rare times I might need it. The only negative thing that I can say about it is I wish it didn't have the obnoxious blue led. It is very bright!Pros:Fit’s great. Nothing looks out of place when you look at it installed.Fast Drive accessQuick to swap it out for other media bay accessoriesCons:Blue LED is very bright.

Great product for my 6420, works also great with the other mentioned systems. Just need to setup/configure the HDD/PC settings in case it does not recognize it, this is a windows issue and not a product issue. In case you have an issue like this, there are some websites that show you how to fix it.

Otherwise it works about as well as expected.

Well-engineered, sturdy, and a perfect facsimile to the original DVD face plate. It does not look like a hard drive at all, they even have the eject button on there. While that was probably to save money, I like that a lot. The "Eject" button for the entire caddy works perfectly, making it quick to swap out. You could very reliably do this several times a day, as quickly as unplugging and replacing a USB jump drive. The hard drive is so quick and easy to replace this could be very useful for an on-site data recovery tool. My Dell laptop even supports hot-swap. This may be a problem as stealing the hard drive would be equally easy. I guess the only "con" is there's no way to put a screw in there to slow a thief down.
