I've purchased this product several times because we have laminate flooring, so we have quite a few areas rugs. Its easy to use, no weird smells, lays flat and adds nice cushion and warmth to area rugs. I used carpet tape to attach underlay to the rug and it keeps the rug from sliding off the underlay and makes the rug heavy enough that it stops the rug from sliding on the floor. Happy with this product, will probably buy several more for my small rugs.

This rug pad is a game changer!! It comes folded but immediately open up and lays flat nicely. No odor at all. Has made a huge difference in the comfort level of the older oriental rug it is now under. Not spongy, just a nice,even level comfort. I would buy this again. Carpet doesn't shift on the rug pad and the rug pad doesn't shift on the hardwood floor. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE!

I bought this for my runner down the main hallway of my home because the runner did not stay put. I ordered this one for its thickness which is great, but the runner still moves around. everyday at least once I have to reposition it. Its annoying. and I wasted my money. I tried flipping it too thinking I had it on the wrong side, but slips the same no matter what is on the floor.

I bought this for my hand embroidered hall rug that is like two layers only attached at the edges, it isn't one solid piece like normal rugs. I think it doesn't work very well to keep it from moving because of the extra rubbing and tugging traffic does to this thing so I bought some sticky patches to reinforce it but even that doesn't keep it from moving the pad itself out from under the rug. So maybe the pad doesn't stick to the rug enough on top either. It did help to keep it from moving LESS, but it was still a once a day or every other day adjustment before the stickers, and now the stickers are failing so... I guess this review is less for the pad and more about warning people buying this for odd rugs. Fix the rug first I'd say if you want maximum effectiveness. There will still be adjusting needed but less often I guess.

Cannot speak for longevity yet, but first impression is the fact that it has grips on both sides of the felt. So far the carpet holds in place without shifting. More time will tell for certain.You can definitely notice padding underfoot with a slight cushion beneath the carpet.Ordered another brand here claiming it was 1/4 inch thick. It was not as thick as stated, only gripped on one side and slipped around within minutes of placing it on the floor. The difference between this brand and the other was like night and day. Returning the other brand, ordered more of these.
