Product Description

Nordic Pure MERV 7 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filters provide exceptional filtration for both home and commercial environments. Each time air passes through a Nordic Pure pleated furnace air filter, lint, pet dander, spores. MERV 7 furnace filters are comparable to HVAC filters with the rating of MPR 600 or FPR 5. While different companies use different scales to measure the air filter’s efficiency, Nordic Pure chose to follow the inry standard, MERV, as developed by ASHRAE (the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioner Engineers). No matter the name of the rating, the efficiency of all air filters is rated according to the same criteria as set forth by ASHRAE.  Nordic Pure furnace air conditioner filters are manufactured using a heavy duty, unaffected by moisture beverage board frame. As with all Nordic Pure furnace air conditioner filters, the material is electrostatically charged to attract unwanted particles. Our attention to the smallest of details results in a healthier living space. For fresh, clean air in your home and office, it is important to regularly change your AC filter, especially during home improvements. We recommend changing your HVAC furnace filter every 1-3 months, depending on your unique home or office environment. People with pets or those who suffer from allergies should change their A/C air filters more often. Replacing your air filter regularly not only improves indoor air quality, it helps your HVAC unit perform more efficiently.  Important Note: Almost all air condition filters have a different Actual Size (the exact dimensions) than Nominal Size (the name) printed on the air conditioning filter. It is best to measure the exact size of your A/C filter and compare it to our Actual Size to be sure your HVAC replacement filter fits!

From the Manufacturer

Nordic Pure's air filters are pleated and electro statically charged and have a high efficiency rating. The electrostatic charge of the air filters works as a magnet and draw airborne particles to them. This helps protect your family from pollen, fine dust, tobacco and cooking smoke, airborne plant spores. Our non-woven synthetic filter media will not support the growth of micro-particles, keeping your home healthier. Air filters are ranked in a minimum efficiency rating value (MERV) system. The higher the MERV rating, the better the air filter can filter out all airborne particulates. Remember not all HVAC systems can handle the higher MERV ratings. Filters that have received a rating of MERV 7-12 are great for all HVAC systems. However, MERV ratings of 13-16 are able to capture smaller particle sizes even before the air filter starts to become dirty and are recommended for newer units. We manufacture most any size disposable home air filter in 1/2-Inch 1-Inch, 2-Inch, 4-Inch, 5-Inch and 6-Inch thickness. The printed size on the side of your air filters may be the nominal size so it is best to physically measure your filters with a ruler or tape to get the EXACT measurements of your home air filters within 1/8 of an inch on the length and width. Consult your HVAC system's operating manual for information. Nordic Pure recommends that you replace your filters every 1 to 6 months. That way, our filters will help your HVAC system to continue running to its best capacity. Nordic Pure has been manufacturing air filters since 1960 at our plant in Oklahoma. We are proud to be offering a MADE IN THE USA product.

My home has two 16x20 returns and a central air handler with an Aprilaire filter box in line with the air handler. Using the Aprilaire 213 alone wasn't enough to keep the worst of the pollen out of the house in the height of allergy season.Running cheap 16x20 filters alone I'd have to swap them every couple of weeks. Running the Aprilair 213 alone I'd change based in the thermostats air calcs, often I'd have to change when it said the filter had "10% remaining" because the filter was clogged up enough that it was mostly being bypassed and wasn't doing much filtering any more.Running one Nordic 16x20x1 with Charcoal and leaving the other 16x20 position empty has had two effects1. The aprilaire 213 filter is lasting longer (can often be used until 0% remaining on the thermostat). Thus decreasing cost.2. The pollen level inside the house is decreased (air quality increased). Thus increasing comfort.3. The two types of filters have a different life, using the Nordic as a prefilter I can get 125% cycle and be changing it at a different time than the Aprilaire 213. Meaning better filtration by whichever filter is earlier in it's cycle. I just try and avoid changing both at the same time, as long as they are out of synch one is picking up the slack.all and all using the Nordic Pure 16 x 20 as a prefilter has made it more conformable in the house.

These filters are well made and do a great job and they aren’t so thick that they cause your system to work extra hard.

Fitment is slightly small compared to other brands and sits losely in the enclosure however it does seem to be of good quality and works well.

I ordered this multi pack for a new Rheem unit that I had installed in my home in 2015. After living in an apartment for several years and never having to pick out air filters for the AC unit, I wasn't really sure what to choose, but I'm glad I went with these. They are very sturdy, not like the flimsy ones that apartment complexes provide to you for their AC units.I was unsure of the Merv rating, but after doing some reading, I think these fall in the midline of filtering out allergens and particles. I have one dog in my home, and change the filter about once a month to every 6 weeks, but more often since the unit has been running quite a bit during the summer. I LOVE being able to order a multipack of these because I have them when I need them, and seeing the box sitting on the shelf in the garage reminds me to replace the filter on a regular basis. The price is very fair for the quality of the product, I would say even on the lower end of what I would pay. With bringing a new baby into my home in the next couple of weeks, I've decided to reorder with the MERV 12's of the Nordic Pure this time. Just some first time mom paranoia, but I'm hoping it will filter out more of the junk that floats around in the air. I would definitely recommend this and any of Nordic Pure's products as they seem to be of good quality.

Features of the NordicPure Air Filter:Actual Size: 15 1/2 x 19 1/2 x 3/4M.E.R.V. rating of 13 -- Comparable to a MPR rating of 2200Superior Air Filter for Residential or Commercial PropertyHypoallergenic and antimicrobial pleated electrostatic filter material -- removes dust, pollen, microbes, bacteria, and smoke. The Nordic Pure Air Filter has the highest M.E.R.V. rating (MERV 13) of any of the popular types and brands of furnace/AC fitlters. For example, the 3M/Honeywell's own rating system of 2200 is equal to a M.E.R.V. Rating of 13, BUT the 3M/Honeywell filters of the same size sell for around $20.00 EACH -- I priced the 3M/Honeywell filters at the Depot, at 240 dollars for the 12-pack -- while the Nordic Pure Filter has the same efficiency rating, and sells here for about 8.50 each. As for cleaning the air, we have used the Nordic Pure Merv 13 Filters for almost 3 years -- and our home is relatively dust-free, with none of the common problems with pollen, asthma, allergies, or year-round breathing issues that we experience here in the desert climate. We've noticed less colds and doctor-visits, too!! The Nordic Pure MERV 13 Air Filters are proudly made in the USA -- at less than half the cost of the 3M/Honeywell's finest -- these filters deliver premium-price air quality at a much lower price -- We made the switch, and we'll never go back !! My order arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Thanks, Amazon !

To repeat, a bit expensive, but recent experience shows they really work. In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, we have, for most of the summer, suffered smoke blowing in from the wildfires in B.C. ,Alberta, as well as Ontario...My wife has asthma, and, in the house, with these installed...NO PROBLEM!If these things can filter out the smoke, then they are absolutely perfect for normal filtration.Tom

Been fan of this brand for a numbrt of years. They are very strong and well made so they don’t push in like some other brands I have used. This is my first charcoal ones as in recent months sadly the price has doubled so I normally get the six pack merv 8 none charcoal but it was over $120 so this was the only three pack I could find to keep costs down. Still $70Recommended but are stating to get to expensive for us in Canada.
