Measures: 5.5" x 5.5" / 14cm x 14cm. Set of 2 filters. Charcoal filters help absorb odors that compost pails produce. Each filter is 5.5 inches in diameter, round. Made as replacement filters for Norpro’s ceramic compost keepers, items #83, #93, #93R and #93EB. Filters should be changed approximately every 6 months, depending on use, heat and humidity. Let food cool down before putting in your composter. Moisture from warm product can decrease the time for changing the filter. Do not wash and reuse the filter. The charcoal in the filter absorbs the odors and once it has fully absorbed to its maximum, discard filter. *To replace filter, pull old filter out and toss. Inside replacement pack are two round filters. Only one filter is needed at a time and fits easily and snugly inside the lid.

Fit our ceramic countertop compost keeper perfectly. Just like the OEM filters, they are thick and do hold down any minor odors and allow the material to breath and begin to breakdown.

I order these replacement filters all the time. They work great.

This is a great filter for use with our compost keeper. We use it for our stainless steel compost keeper and we have never had a problem with odors and we keep it indoors.

I finally found the filters that fit properly in my Norpro compost pail. These are two-piece, charcoal-infused, filters that fit in the lid. The thicker, square piece goes in first and the round filter fits second (closest to the inside of the pail). They work well, but if you use you pail as much as we do, you will want to change these filters at least every two months.Fruit will still attract fruit flies and very wet scraps will mold if you don't empty you pail very often. My recommendation is to stock up---they are cheap; change them frequently; and most importantly---do NOT let scraps sit in this container more than 24-36 hours. With these caveats, recommended.

Keeps the odor to a minimum. Feel the product does what it was supposed to do.

We have a bottom cabinet for the pull-out garbage and recycling cans. I tossed these two behind the cans and the smell and humidity has been better ever since. Highly recommend.

I use two of these in my canister for cat litter disposal. They are perfect. I have sprayed Febreze on them too to ensure the can is a little fresher. They are well made.

I purchased my compost pail at Marshall's a few years ago. I still see the same pail there occasionally. The Norpro stainless steel version I purchased came with one extra filter, and looks exactly like the pail on Amazon. However, the filter that came with the pail was about 7 3/4 inches in diameter and fit snugly into the lid. The replacement is between 5 and 6 inches in diameter and would not stay put since it is too small.I garden and I also have a large compost file. My husband built a screen with wire mesh, similar to chicken wire but a little smaller wire spacing, so we can filter the large sticks out of our compost before we spread it on our lawn.Using tin snips, I did the following:1. Cut a piece of leftover wire mesh a little larger than the lid and bent it to snap into the lid.2. I place the filter in first and snap in the piece of wire.WARNING: the cut edges will be sharp if not smoothed with a file, so handle with care.It works great. (I probably should patent the contraption, but I am offering the workaround for free). Since the wire is galvanized steel it should hold up and not rust, and it allows air to flow through the filter. It has not rusted and I have been using it about a year. The price for the filters is worth the purchase to me. I tried to locate the material to make my own but I didn't quickly find a source, so this is workaround sufficed.
