I have a log splitter from 1984. There is a short 3/4" steel pipe that is welded to the hydraulic tank for the hydraulic oil filter. When I went to change the hydraulic oil filter, the factory thread snapped off inside the filter housing. I was left with 2 threads. The pipe is so short that my electric threader did not have enough pipe to work with. I used this, with a 24" pipe wrench and cut 11 new threads to reinstall my oil filter. WORKED PERFECTLY!. All I had to do was to file the edge of the pipe all around to a slight point to accept the die and all worked well. This saved me from cutting/grinding off the old pipe and welding on a new pipe nipple for the filter. I recommend and would buy again.

I use a lot of 3/4 pvc on my 2 acre property that has a lot of irrigation, and also plumbing in and around the house and garages. This is a great tool to cut or reform the rounded shallow threads you get on a lot of the pvc fittings. Instead of tossing them, now I can just recut the threads and put them to use.

Worked great for chasing some ruined threads.I purchased this when the pipe threading tool I had was to big. This was shallow and was able to start and thread a four inch pipe, using a 24†adjustable wrench. Its size made it perfect for tight areas. With its hexagon shape made it easy to turn with a multitude of tools.

Worked great this size retreading a sprinkler iron pipe that lost its thread from a lawnmower shearing off its brass sprinkler head…. Saved me several hundred dollars for sure

I used this pipe die to chase the threads on some 3/4†pipe fittings. It worked great for what I needed. I can’t say how well it would cut new threads, but it is heavy duty and seems to be good quality.
