I needed a simple set of a few petri dishes to introduce children to the basics of bacteria. This set was perfect. With the dried agar, I was able to purchase it well before I needed to use it. Making the agar was a bit of a hassle, but nothing unreasonable.When it came time to use the dishes, they worked exactly as expected. The provided swabs were convenient, and worked like a charm. All of the dishes grew or didn't grow bacteria as needed, and the children loved watching their experiments grow.All and all, I will be purchasing another set next time I'm in need of some handy Petri dishes.

Loved this kit! We used it for a science fair experiment- Is a dog's mouth cleaner than a human's mouth? Came with everything we needed and grew plenty of bacteria!

Very easy to mix and pour the agar. Used for my son’s 1st grade STEM fair project. Gave it 4 stars because requires autoclave, which most ppl don’t have, and it took like 3-4 days to finally see some growth. Otherwise worked great for a school project! Would but again

It was easy to use but it did not work for me. I do not know why it did not work. I tried other agar powder and it worked well. Sorry but if it did not work for me then it isn't a good value for me. For others it may be a great value.

The thing about this is that the dishes meant to hold the agar are pretty flimsy, even with tape there was too much air exchange and the agar dried out. They also give so little agar mixture when mixed to proportions instructed, You can barely fill all petri dishes maybe 2mm thin.

The product arrived on time and was just as it was described. Everything was in solid packaging, and was in good condition. We used it for my 6th grader's science project on bacteria on hard surfaces. The supplies worked great. However, it requires that you autoclave the petri dishes, and I had no idea what that meant, but apparently that is a special process that can happen in a science lab. We would not have bought this one if we had known that. There are some that come with agar already poured, and then there's a 3M product that is easy for kids to use.
