2oz is actually quite a bit. Good stuff, reacts with magnets and may be good for injecting into the bum of a security guard to free your human magnet friend. I'd say don't actually get this on anything, as it really stains the crap out of your hands/clothes/cat. For extra fun suspend it in about a 70/30 rubbing alcohol/distilled water solution. If you suspend it in 100 alcohol, it separates from the oil suspension and becomes these little black chunks that will be like the worst paint you've ever gotten on your hands. I made the mistake of dumping it in my white bathroom sink and then touched the chunk. It promptly stuck to my fingers and turned them black. I then tried to wipe it out of the sink which was wrong and it spread like a strange paint. Needless to say, the only thing that got this off my hands and sink was more rubbing alcohol and determined rubbing (heh).Get some bottles and make some 'Dwarfs in a bottle' and wow your anime friends with your amazing living Dwarf. Just no soul sucking.

Perfect for what I needed it for! I was looking for a macro shot of it and it worked out beautifully. Note: I did not use the Petri dish that came with the kit (I had some larger glass ones) nor did I use the magnets that came with it (I had stronger ones available).

This stuff is a mess, but it's a heck of a lot of fun!My son and I experimented with a few different suspension solutions to create a display. We spent a couple messing around and had a great time. His friends were duly impressed with the fluid's reactions to magnetic fields and he donated the best one to his teacher. (5th grade)It doesn't take a whole of the fluid in a solution to create a cool display. Just don't get it on anything. It stains like you wouldn't believe

Great flow and magnetic properties to this fluid! I tried making my own for some projects and it did not go too well. This stuff works great! No issues at all.

Just no. Do yourself a favor and use glass, not plastic. This product actually seeps through plastic. It splatters and it doesn't wash off of anything. It's literally impossible to use this kit as is

What a mess this stuff makes! The two magnets were shattered inside the package somehow, useless now.

This is awesome for teaching kids about magnetism in a fun way. For all ages the effects of Ferrofluid is wowing but for older kids the explanation of how it actually was created and how it works is also really cool. For the price, the fun and learning can't be beat.

I'm not a chemist, but it seems to be the real deal. If you want to make a display just add one pipette squeeze to a 1:1 ratio of distilled water to isopropyl alcohol. I used 99% isopropyl but I'm told also rubbing alcohol works well.

The dropper doesn't work. The container it comes with is pretty much useless and makes a huge mess as it doesn't contain the fluid. Find another one. If this wasn't opened it would've been returned. Unfortunately you don't know the issues until it's been opened. Hopefully I can save others from buying this ahead of time. Don't do it!
