This is not just for spam. Till it brakes. I used it on only soft things, eggs, canned corn beef, etc. In fact I use this mostly on spam and that is the hardest thing I have cut with it. The third or fourth time I used it, it came a part. The metal cutting frame popped out of the plastic base. It popped back in, but it will prove a fatal flaw in the future. Spam is a little too hard/dense for this the "Spam Slicer" to cut. Go slow, also the spam being greasy tends to slide back and does not want to be cut. I will have to use this in two pieces eventually. Bringing the wires down evenly from above will be better and easier to cut with.I am glad I got this. Would I buy it again? No.

Slicing Spam and the slices are equal. I could never get consistent slices before with just a knife. It's worth the few dollars it cost.

I've used this slicer multiple times before leaving the review, so I could figure out all the good and bad.The good:it cuts prep time (slicing) down by 50% or more and makes cleanup after prep quicker and easier with less mess. The bad:the slicer feels cheap, like the top handle (where the cutting wires are) will break off.The top part of the slicer, at times, does not slice down at the correct angle and has to be moved left/right to get it to snug into the base after the cut. When trying to slice an item multiple times (cutting it one way then trying to turn it to cut the opposite direction), the item being cut has to be removed from the slicer in order to open the top and then turned/flipped to be cut again. This can lead to pieces falling out of the slicer/off the plate/out of your hand (or wherever you put it during transition) and leading to wasted food. If there was any other way to reset the slicer, that would make it even more convenient, but you get what you pay for.Overall, for the price, this is a fairly useful item, pretty much worth the price point and I will continue using it until is eventual breaks (like all things do).

I use this to slice canned dog food loaf. I have a small dog that also eats kibble so so she can’t get thru a can in the fridge without it going bad. So I slice her loaf and put in freezer and pull out what she needs daily. Works great.

Slices Spam very well indeed. I am guessing that it will not hold up long term without very careful handling. Rather flimsy looking but cuts Spam evenly and well. Do Not use on anything tougher or harder than Spam.

It slices soft cheeses ok but when you try a slightly firmer cheese or luncheon meats the back end pops off so you can’t complete the slice. Very annoying!

Also eggs, and if your cheese is soft enough. Just put it in the dishwasher after use. I kept the box, because the wires might get broken off, or you could cut yourself on it if you put it in a drawer.

This is a great little luncheon meat slicer. No assembly required, easy to use and easy to clean. Competitively priced, it offers great value. I liked it so much, I bought 3. One can yields 12 evenly sliced pieces.

Good size for a can of SPAM, producing equal slices with no waste or risky knife work.Worked well on canned ham, Spam, bananas and even wieners to be added to baked beans.Planning on trying it on soft cheeses and maybe ripe peaches and pears for sundaes.
