Your cart is empty.Dominant dog collars are specifically designed for use on handler aggressive or dog aggressive dogs. These collars are excellent for lowering the drive and taking the fight out of a dog. DO NOT jerk this collar to deliver a correction. The proper way to use the collar is to SLOWLY lift straight up on the collar, until the dog ceases the behavior and settles. The dominant dog collars come in 1 inch increments. Use a string or cloth tape to measure around the dogs neck. Measure just under the jaw and around the head right behind the ears. The string or cloth tape must be tight to get a proper measurement. There should be no space between the dogs neck and the tape measure or string. Order a collar that is the same length as that measurement. If the measurement falls between two sizes, then round down to the next smaller size. For example, if the measurement is 18 1/2 inches, order an 18 inch dominant dog collar.

Measure correctly and not have too much fur, and the dominant dog collar can be very helpful! The collar seems well made and though I do not have one from Leerburg, the company that invented the collar, this one will surely function just as well... on a normal dog! I have what they call a plush coated German Shepherd, and when I tried this collar it just became mired in fur and the battle was lost! For some dogs this collar will be a lifesaver of time and effort for the handler.

I'm going to be honest- I don't use this is a dominant dog collar but rather as a simple slip collar because he cheerfully finds his way out of regular collars with ease. I just like the clip on this one for a quick on and off. For that reason, I ordered it a little larger than necessary and can't exactly comment on it's usefulness on an aggressive dog. However, it's well made and durable and doesn't catch on my dog's long coat so it works great for us.

Really LOVE this collar!I wanted something similar to a chain but with an exact size, so it doesn't slip down the neck. This is exactly that!It's well made, snazzy and practical.It does loosen up a bit so I would go 1-1/2 size smaller than your measurement to account for that.If you like using leads for the control, but want to use a double clip leash or long line, this is it.

I purchased 2 - this one and one from a different seller (similar price). Both are 18 inches but this collar is stiff (thicker somehow) and thus less flexible and too tight, though both are same length. I will try stretching it out a bit if I ever need it. The other one fits perfectly. A few websites that offer this product suggest getting a collar that is 2inches smaller than your dog's neck (which is why I got the 18 - my dog's neck measures 20''), but in the case of this product I recommend going down by 1 inch or not at all.

Ordered the collar according to the measurement directions, but had to return it, as it was too small. The sizing instructions perhaps should instruct that the clip is included in the measurement. There were no issues when we returned the item. Reordered the next size up. Would recommend this product, and the company purchased from (Dog Sport Gear Canada). Great customer service.
