We have to have this martingale style collar because our dog has such a thick neck and smaller head that any other type of collar just slips off of her. It looks great on her and it's made of durable material that I know she'll put to the test. We run, hike, ski, snowshoe and walk together so this collar will be put through a lot and will be able to hold up like all the other Ruffwear products we own.

Fits my two 45lb dogs perfectly. One of my pups has a very narrow head and can slip out of collars and harnesses. I had tried metal prong collars for our long walks, which they didn't mind, but this is so much better. The collars seem well built and like they will last.

*Somebody* discovered the mud at the dog park yesterday! This super cute, durable collar cleaned up really well. I only use martingale collars and this one is great. Zola has a little head and "pencil neck" (as we lovingly call her), so it's perfect. I also like that there's a separate clip for the tags and they don't have to go on the same loop that you clip the leash onto. That's so convenient. For a spoiled girl that has multiple collars, this one is used the most.

I just adopted an average size, 3 year old male beagle. I wanted a little stronger collar. He came with a Martingale collar but it wasn't as strong as this one I bought from Ruffwear/ Amazon. His neck size was pretty close to being "in between" sizes. I looked through reviews and very few people commented about the size/breed of their dog and what size collar they bought. I would urge people to do this. It helps people that are kinda in the middle of two sizes. Much better than just saying "Lassie loves it".I bought the 11-14 and I am glad I did. It was the right decision. Great collar. And Ruffwear customer service is really good too.

Made well—would have preferred fasteners to be metal, but it has held up well so far.

The only collar I feel comfortable walking my dog down busy NYC streets in… if he gets spooked I know he won’t slip out of it.

We were really struggling with finding a collar that our pitbull couldn't slide out of during his walks. This collar was the solution! The fit is great - I love that I can have it be a little looser on him but it still tightens up during our walks so he can't slip out. The collar itself is sturdy and feels like a good quality collar. So far, so great!

Great details like the sturdy hardware and dog tag tab. Love the martingale style with plastic buckle. Reflective stitching is a subtle but nice touch. My rescue dog came with a Ruff Wear collar. Liked it so much I ordered another and will consider if I need to buy collars for future rescue dogs I adopt.

We have an escape artist and wanted to find a way to stop him from running away. This was the perfect solution. He is choked, but just enough to prevent him from pulling (you can regulate this too), and he cannot get it off, HE DID TRY! Also, since it is not a torture device, he can have it on all the time. I am not sure if he is happy about it, he seemed to enjoy going wild, but I am a happy owner now!It goes on the bigger size, so I asked about exchanging it for a smaller one and they just sent me a new one, what an amazing company!
