I can't tell you if it will survive 20K pounds of force or not, but I just yanked a giant tree stump from the earth with my pickup truck using this tow strap. The pickup truck struggled, but the strap held true and didn't break. It seems like somebody should write a country music song about this....! :)

Had to remove ball and replace with D-ring shackle. Hook fits this. Strap needs bigger hooks. The engineering dept. screwed up on this one. They didn't check all the connection options. Probably it was rookies and no design review by seniors.

I have found the need for a shorter, stouter strap like this WAY more often than the longer, stronger varieties. I'm not a professional rescue driver or anything, but I'm a country boy from Louisiana who keeps tow straps, log chains, tractor jumper cables, traction boards, and various shackles and rigging equipment in my truck's tool-box for getting myself and others out of sticky situations. I even picked up an extreme duty 40' X 4" 47K lb. tow strap for pulling just about anything out of a bind a few years ago. But despite my level of preparedness, I have found that a lighter duty 8' tow strap with soft loops just like this will see way more use in various situations than anything else. You don't always need 20 feet of stretchy strap to yank someone out of a mudhole. Much of the time, all you need is a gentle tug, and you're back in business. Great product, great price.
