Precautions for whistles
Note: The whistle piece is packed in a transparent box of four pieces. Because the whistle piece is an imported product, do not open the box after receiving and check the reed first
Whether it is in good condition for reuse.
1. The oboe whistle piece is two reed pieces tied together, which is not seamless, and the spots on the cork are normal.
2. The pronunciation part of the front end of the whistle is thin, so as to avoid damage, be careful when holding and playing, and pay attention to keeping the whistle clean.
3. Before use, soak the reed in warm water (only the part of the reed contained in the mouth). Soak the reed in water as little as possible above the village line for about 5 minutes until thoroughly soaked. Then blow the water out from behind the whistle stand and put the reed on the instrument
4. After use, remove the whistle from the whistle head, gently rinse it with running water two to three times, and gently push the whistle surface with your fingers. After slight rinsing, dry it with paper towels, and then put the whistle in the transparent tube of the whistle (clean it about once a week on average), which can extend the service life of the whistle.

I checked 3 and at least two were damaged, so decided to return those.

Well, technically they make sound. As someone who has made oboe reeds, I can tell you that they are not supposed to look like this. The heart is nonexistent and the tip is thick and crooked. With some work, these reeds could work, but with out serious adjustments they will be more hassle then they are worth. You would be better off buying reeds from a local oboe player.
