Excellent replacement handle for any kayak . Took me less than 15 minutes to replace both of my handles.

This was shipped in a Tyvek envelope through the USPS, and too often the USPS is slow to deliver, and this was no exception - days late. First, READ THE LISTING. These are NOT pre-strung, so don't buy these if you don't want to assemble them yourself, or if the concept of pulling a cord through a handle and knotting the two ends together stretches the limits of your mechanical abilities. I had purchased two small stainless steel washers in advance, say with a 5mm hole, and I placed the washer over the cord ends pulled through the handle before knotting to give the knot more surface area. The description isn't accurate; the handles are about 4" across and about 1.5" or so in depth - perfect for a hand hold. The rope is around 16" in length, which when doubled gives you about an 8" long pull cord. You can't feed one end around a tie or loop on your 'yak - you have to double the line. READ THE LISTING. THERE ARE NO RIVETS - THERE ARE NO SCREWS - so the reviews mentioning such are for a different product. The price is a bit steep, but, the rope can be replaced (it's 3/16" cord) and the handle reused, instead of buying a whole new assembly. I would not lift a heavy 'yak by these cords alone, but, if you could find 3/16" core-reinforced line you'd be set. I'd take any review complaining about a broken cord with a large grain of salt if they aren't including a photo of HOW they secured the cord to their "yak. I would pull a 'yak on a cart by the included rope without any hesitation, and pulling it on water will be a non-issue. Again, READ THE LISTING, and ignore the reviews from buyers who clearly did not.

Grip is molded to fit hand. Not padded, but functional.

I have a large/heavy tandem kayak. When I first received these I wasn't sure that they would be "heavy duty" enough. To my surprise they were easy to install (used my boy scout square knot) and easily supports the weight of my kayak (and many times I'm dragging the kayak by a single handle). The blue insert also matches my kayak. I'm giving it a thumbs up. A real good value.

These are not what I would consider Ultra Heavy Duty in any way, shape, or form. They are much smaller than I expected from the photos, even the photos of them attached to kayaks. I bought them for a different purpose than carrying a kayak, so not sure if they would be fine for that purpose, but they definitely didn't work for my item which is heavier than a kayak. No instructions on how to put them together, but not hard to figure out. They seem fine for lugging something light but note that the length of the rope is limited (about 6") and you may not be able to wrap it around a wide carry point.

the product was received promptly and installed without difficulty. The handles are comfortable. These handles are more expensive than some, but the installation through the existing holes was very easy with this model and others looked like they might not fit through the existing hole
