If you're new to drumming or you have a child that's interested in learning about percussion, this sweet and nicely crafted little rain drum is the perfect piece for you! It's small enough to comfortably carry it around for extended periods of time or toss it into a backpack since it'll fit fairly easily. The sound it makes is lovely and you can really bring on the ocean waves' sound once you get the wrist motion down! It's the sweetest little drum! A+++

So...this is the smallest of these drums I have seen, which is kinda why I wanted to try it. I am big on things that do the same job in smaller sizes. However...that is not quite the case here. Close...but not quite. It isn't quite as fluid as the larger sized ones, and a little more difficult to get a nice rhythmic slow undulation with. The metal balls have a distinct clink to them when they strike each other...I think by the tone of it, once again the effect of the small size. It sounds more like rain on a tin roof than waves. Now...that works perfectly fine for me, as I am building a small home studio for audio engineering and foley...and I happen to really like the sound...but both the wife and I thought it definitely sounded like rain on a tin roof.
