We all have gut instincts for a reason. I bought this generator thinking it would save money because it is less expensive than the Bosch GR15N. I paid my mechanic to install it in my 1969 Beetle and afterward they found that this generator was a dud. It didn't generate any electricity, and it couldn't be polarized. So I ordered and received a Bosch generator (from elsewhere), paid my mechanic _again_ for installation, and it worked like a champ. Sure wish that I had chosen a Bosch generator from the start because this aftermarket generator didn't save me money - it ended up costing me money due to paying twice as much for labor. Next time I'll just get a Bosch GR15N generator and go with my gut instincts.
