This is such a fun idea. There’s something cartoonish about it – the arrow signs make it look just like a Wile E. Coyote trap. I suppose the hammer might be for tapping the pieces together but in my mind it’s for bopping the leprechaun on the head after you catch it. I’m planning to do this as a St. Patrick’s Day activity with my nephew and I’m sure he’ll love it.It’s made of laser cut wood. It comes in flat sheets and you have to assemble it yourself. Most of the pieces are already punched out for you which is an improvement over some laser cut kits I’ve built where you have to punch it all out yourself. Still, it isn’t the most friendly kit for younger children because the wooden pieces can be difficult to assemble correctly. The friction of the wood makes it harder to slide the notches into place. But overall the kit is just fine and I look forward to setting it up.

This is perfect for the upcoming time of St Patrick's Day and the many parties and fun times it includes. It is fun to think about Leprechauns and pretend to try and catch them and this trap makes that task so much easier. Gold is the trick that is used to lure the Leprechaun into the trap and once inside you simply pull the string and the trap will fall right over him and trap him inside. The trap is easy to assemble and it comes with the wooden hammer needed for the build. This is a great gift for kids that will have or attend a party for this very fun holiday. My grandkids are 5 and 2 and they are loving this.

It’s cute and wasn’t difficult to put together but I’m missing the piece you pull out to make the box close. I’m going to attempt to repurchase and send this one back. Hopefully the second one will have all the pieces.

It’s a cute idea but not easy to execute. The pieces would start breaking as we were trying to put them in place. One of the sides was bowed out and made it very difficult, tried glue and tape. The double sided tape on pieces so small was difficult. Used hot glue gun for some pieces. We got it together but it is unstable.

My kids have to make a leprechaun trap every year, so was glad to find this one. Kids will need help with assembly, it’s pretty complicated for a 2nd grader. Made from a sturdy ply wood. Just wish it wasn’t painted so my kids can have more hands on.

This is a fun activity for the kids (11 and 9) and they could mostly do it on their own. The instructions were a little bit confusing and the kids needed a little extra support with that (pieces weren't labeled with letters even though they were on the instructions and a few times it was easier to put together if you put a specific piece on first but the instructions just had them all going at the same time). The wood pieces are a little thin and I was a little concerned that the kids would break them, but they did not. It only took about 15-20 minutes to put together and it seems like it will last for years, as long as I pack it away well. The design is cute and the colors are bright and vibrant. The nine year old is very excited to see if this works and if he will have caught a leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day!

I was amazed at the quality of this item. I did not even realize it was all made of wood. The colors are bright and vivid. The illustrative directions were perfect for my granddaughter and I to follow. I put all the two way tape on the backs of the letters and such and she placed them all. Some of the wood tabs required a little tapping to get them into place which is a good thing because it’s secure and the wooden hammer was included. This was a fun project and Little hands were able to assist with everything. I can’t wait to see what our tricky Leprechaun gets up to this year.
