Recieved item just as described. Arrived 3 days early. Metal used for a new plug looks like a good grade 8 bolt/nut should. Would recommend to others !

I have had to re-tap drain plug holes before after someone gets a little overzealous with the tightening torque. My usual procedure is to try and just clean the threads with the same size tap but that rarely works. I then have to drill and tap the hole to the next oversize which usually won't follow the original thread pitch.This kit comes with 6 taps with 1.5 pitch (the 13mm size uses 1.25 and 1.5 pitch) that should work (pitch wise) with most drain plug threads. This allows tapping to the next oversize without (possibly) having to drill the hole oversize first. Also includes all the drain plugs to match the tap sizes in hex and Allen heads. The taps have 4 straight reliefs and this is what I currently try to use. The reliefs can be packed with some sticky grease and holds the chips from the thread cutting operation to keep the sump chip free.If you're the designated 'oil change person' in your family you won't want to be without this kit.

Years ago when I worked at an independent garage, and quick oil change centers had first started to appear, from time to time we'd tow a car down from the quick lube place down the street to our shop to replace or repair a stripped-out oil drain plug. Boy would this kit have been helpful to have around back then!The taps look like good quality and each replacement drain plug comes with two aluminum washers. Good deal to have on hand for a working shop.
