Super drain tool. No runs, no drips, no errors. It threaded perfectly into the little oil canister drain outlet. (2010 Highlander 3.5l-w. tow package). No leaks at all. The drain tool's two o-rings and well-machined brass design are a plus. My fingers are weak, so I tightened the hex base into the cannister "slightly" using a 15/16 open-end wrench, to make sure the tool would be snug before releasing the kracken. I then turned the knurled wheel, as this page instructs. Got out over 1/2 quart oil. I drained it straight into a 2-liter coke bottle. No need for the included vinyl tube, but it is thick and would work great if you want a hose to direct the oil flow. When done, I unscrewed the tool, put the canister hatch back on (with new gasket), and did it very gently this time. Only 9 ft-lbs. When I unscrewed the main canister using canister wrench, a little oil came out from top of cannister where it mates with the engine, but a paper towel caught it all. No mess. You will use a 14mm socket for oil drain bolt. (FYI, I installed a Fumoto F-133S. Drains right into a couple of laundry detergent jugs. Yes, it hangs below the oil pan a tad, but odds are, nothing my beautiful wife runs over would ever snap it off). I also used a nifty aftermarket screw-on funnel to pour the 6.4 qts new oil into engine. No miss, no overflow. Saves big bucks, I know it's done right, and I know it got the correct oil this time (5W30 for this 3.5l engine w. tow package).

A prefect solution to a messy job. It’s easy to use. I’m always careful not to cross thread the plastic Toyota filter housing and this tool fits well and doesn’t leak on your hands. Once it’s attached, just twist the knurled valve and watch the oil flow. When the oil quits flowing, close the valve and it’s easy to remove. High quality construction, plenty of clear hose that you can cut down for any custom length you need. It is a must have tool worth every penny.

Good drain valve. Fits nicely and drained the filter housing with no mess. No issue removing it when finished. Looks good and will be using it every oil change, definitely worth the money.

Makes draining the oil out of the filter housing mess free and incredibly easy. Way better than the plastic drain tools included with cartridge filters.

I purchased this to use with this https://amzn.to/3Cbd1TK to make oil changes on my 2015 Tu dra easier and less messy. I recommend both products without hesitation.

I got tired of paying outrageous prices to the dealer for oil changes on my 2017 Tacoma and I don't trust the quickie oil and lube joints, so I'm back to changing my own oil. When changing the filter you need to drain the oil out of it first. The tool that comes with the Toyota filter works but is very messy. With this you just remove the plug at the bottom of the filter housing, make sure the valve is closed on the drain tool, and thread it in. It screws in very easy and you do not need a wrench, just snug it up by hand. Route the drain tube into you drain pan, open the valve and the oil flows directly to the pan no muss no fuss. The drain tubing is more than long enough. I ended up cutting the length almost in half for a more direct flow into my drain pan. Absolutely works great .

Much better then the little plastic funnel they give you with the oil filter. No guessing and no mess

Made the oil change less messy. Didn’t use the hose because I figured it would be difficult to clean properly. Valve worked flawlessly. Recommend!
