It makes the oil change process much cleaner by draining the filter housing prior to removal preventing oil spills. Avoid The Mess- Simply screw the tool into the drain valve on the oil filter housing, then tighten the knurled nut to drain the housing. Once the housing is drained it can be removed to replace the filter without the usual mess. High Quality Construction- This drain tool will provide years of service thanks to it's heavy duty construction. The 3 piece all metal body connects to a 30â long silicone drain hose that allows you to direct the oil into your oil disposal container. How It Works Step 1: Remove the 3/8" drive metal plug from the bottom of the oil filter housing to expose the drain valve. Step 2:ÂMake sure the knurled nut is backed off all the way (towards the silicone hose) Step 3: Thread the oil drain tool into the threaded port that was exposed by removing the plug. Step 4: Direct the end of the drain hose into your oil drain pan or container. Step 5: Tighten the knurled portion of the tool which activates the spring loaded valve inside the oil filter housing. Step 6:ÂOnce the housing is drained remove the tool and reinstall the metal drain valve plug. This works very nice. The fitting is perfect. The build quality is also good. Makes draining so much easier than the cheap throw away plastics that comes with the filter package. The tube is rubber, not plastic, which is also very nice. The rubber tube also clears easier too. When I'm done, I hang it with the tube down and place a paper towel below it for the remaining oil to drain onto. It's a nice product for the diy.

This unit easily drains the oil from the filter housing with no mess. The drain tube easily directs the oil to the drain container without all of the mess of the plastic adaptors which come with many oil filters.If you service your Toyota yourself, you will love this tool.

I used this on my 2017 Tacoma when I changed the oil. It made the whole process so much easier and less messy. Without this tool the oil would leak out and get everywhere when draining the oil filter compartment, but with this you screw it in and release the oil when ready so no mess. The included plastic adapter with the oil filter worked but oil went everywhere. Now I dread changing oil like before.

After years of using the plastic drains that come with toyota canister filter, this tool was by far my favorite purchase. After failing to find a decently priced similar tool from Snap-On or Matco, MotivX came through. Quality material, ease of use and clean up are key components of this tool no matter how basic the design. If you're thinking about buying one and you work in the auto industry, you won't regret it.

I am looking forward to using it on my next oil filter change, didn’t like the mess doing it the last time.The item was delivered promptly and was packed well to prevent shipping damage. I have the filter remover from MotoX and it is the best filter remover tool I have.
