Assembly was very straight forward, I don't remember even using the instruction. Put some water in it just to confirm no leak. Moving 3/4 full with water present no issue, but did have some splashing. I definitely keep this in mind when it is oil, but it would take multiple car oil change before we get to this point.I got this because I do my own oil change, between my parents' car and my wife's car, I am changing 4 vehicles every 4 to 6 months. I have other oil pans, but the opening for those are much smaller, a big gust of wind would cause oil to splash all over my drive way. This basically have the entire top open, so splash at all for the 5 oil changes I have done so far.The issue I ran into is the oil pump still leave significant about of oil. I installed a 3 way valve, once the oil becomes too low for the pump to push out, I open the value and drain into a small pan to drain everything out. I shorten the length of the hose because it is too long.

It’s low enough to go underneath truck axles and the pump works well.

Pump leaks, prior to using it, open it up and apply some gasket maker. I would recommend replacing the pump all together, it pumps slow! The hose for the transfer is cheap, replace this with a better hose also, it will kink and fold on you. The rest of this item is well built

This product had promise, decent materials and a good idea, however, very poor welds, the bracket for hand pump was welded on the front , pic shows on rear. Obviously they knew because they made a very poor drain on front bottom of pan, and the original drain , better design remains on rear. The brackets for rear wheels not lined up correctly. Had to rework many of the assembly components to work. Have not had time to try hand pump yet, but it sounds horrible with a grinding noise. My advise is to pass on anything from this vendor.

Overall, no major complaints. It holds oil and does a semi-decent job of pumping it out. I've used it for four oil changes now, and it gets the job done. However, it started leaking out of the pump housing on day one. Not really a big deal, I've just been making sure to throw a couple handfuls of sawdust under the pump when I store it, but I was finally bored enough to address it yesterday. In my case, the pump was leaking from the front cover. I've seen some other complaints about the shaft seal, which would probably be due to poor machining of the shaft. But the cover is a relatively easy fix. Here's what surprised me, even though I know it shouldn't have. When I got the pump disassembled, I discovered that the 'gaskets' were cut out of a Chinese(?) newspaper. Literally just newsprint soaked in some kind of wax. Made them really easy to clean off, but come on guys! A bead of RTV and no leaks as of this afternoon. The other issue I've had is an apparent vacuum leak. Until now, I've been able to get around it by slowing down on the crank handle, but my hope is that the RTV will cure that as well.
