This oil filter wrench is made by Motivx Tools at our USA headquarters using high quality materials sourced in the US.
Our patent-pending design uses two types of aluminum, 6061 for the body (the grey part) and 7075 for the drive hub (the red part). 7075 aluminum is typically used in the aircraft industry and has properties similar to steel. It will not yield (deform) when the ratchet is rotated, even on the tightest oil filter caps.

This is the best oil filter wrench I've ever used. The fit is perfect and the quality is super high. I had an oil change done at the dealer on my 2012 Lexus CT200h and the filter housing was on so tight I had trouble removing it. I didn't want to risk damaging the filter housing by applying so much pressure without a great fitting filter wrench so I bought this one. I'm so happy I did! It worked great, stayed on even with the extra force needed to turn the over tight filter housing and I got my oil change done. Worth every penny!

A family member has a late model Toyota with the cartridge-style oil filters. I'm not a big fan of them-- I prefer the traditional steel-can oil filters-- but the rest of the car is pretty good so who am I to complain?I'm the one that ends up changing the oil on this car, and the first time I did it I failed to realize that I needed a special tool for the filter housing. I ALMOST attacked the housing with a set of Channellock pliers, but the idea of having to find a replacement housing at 4PM on a Saturday cooled me off.Instead, I bought the right tool for the job. This housing socket is well machined and fits the housing quite tightly. A good thing, because it was a real fight to get that housing off the first time I did it (whoever worked on the car before me was a bit enthusiastic when they tightened it up).I'll only use this tool a couple of times a year, but it wasn't very expensive and it prevents damage to the filter housing so I'm OK with it. It worked correctly the first time, the fit and finish is impressive for the price, and it looks like it will last forever.

Tool fits on the base of the filter cup perfectly on a 3rd Gen Tacoma with the 3.5L V6 engine. It's designed to fit the flat sides of the cup's base instead of putting pressure against the plastic ears higher up on the cup so there's no danger of breaking any of the ears off.Tool is robust. Looks and feels well made. Very nicely packaged. Must have tool if you plan on servicing your 3rd Gen Tacoma yourself.

First, the packaging this came in was a huge surprise. Very nicely boxed. Gee can you give awards for presentation when it comes to filter wrenches? Anyway, wrench itself is seriously well made. The pictures do not do it justice. It is exactly as you would imagine a wrench must be made. Fit was perfect (a bit snug which is what you want). And it got the job done! Nothing else I tried worked. This was outstanding and took the filter housing right off (with Toyota Camry's the filter is a drop-in). Used it to snug the housing back on when done. HIGHLY recommend this wrench and brand. Will definitely purchase when I need it for my other cards. Worth the price in time saved.

Very nice tool, but expensive, so I'll say if you want high quality, you need to spend the money. Cheaper versions will do the job also.

Had a repair shop over tighten my oil filter, by a lot!!! Regular auto store wrench wouldn't do it! It slipped and I was afraid of stripping the filter. This socket fit like a glove and didn't slip! I really had to apply a significant amount of torque to remove this filter! Great tool!

Build quality is good. It is not cheap product. first time doing an oil change on this car (16 Prius) and the filter was stuck on there that I had to use a impact which didn’t break it loose (not recommended) and tool did not break. Highly recommend this for ur car with a toyota 1.8l engine. Amazons says this doesn’t fit my car but it was perfect.

Works as prescribed. It can use a socket or a socket extension, your choice. Works well for tight canisters, spreads the torque out over the whole surface area. The material it's made of seems of good quality, too.

I bought this after going through three cast aluminum adapters over 2 years. I have 2 toyotas, one I bought used and has a sticky oil filter cover. I had to use a breaker bar to release the seized filter cap and i almost bent the breaker bar before it popped loose. I thought the adapter broke like all the prior ones I had, but this works! If you do your own maintenance, definitely invest in this rather than going through the misery of replacing damged parts. Its expensive, but well worth the money! So happy with this purchase for all the trouble it saved me from. This is a machined steel piece, not a cast aluminum, and it fits PERFECTLY into both my new and older Toyotas.
