I am pleased with the look, ease of assembly and the functionality of this train set for Christmas decoration purposes. The track was not large enough to go around the bottom of our main living room tree (partially due to the gifts and size of tree skirt) but it was a cool addition to my smaller office tree. It wasn't purchased to be used as a toy, so I can't comment on that aspect.

My son asked for a train to go under the tree like the one we had when he was a kid. He loved this train. Particularly the "smoke" that comes out of the engine. Great starter train.
