The cable was an exact fit, and the price was lower than the local parts stores.I live about 20 minutes from town, so after calling all the local parts stores I learned none of them stocked the cable. The one who was closest in price (still slightly higher) required me to come in to the store and purchase the cable. I asked about paying over the phone and the guy tells me that he can't do that I have to physically come in. I stated "you realize this is exactly why Amazon is putting you out of business. You're asking me to waste an hour coming in to pay, then I have to drive BACK into town tomorrow to pick up the cable. Online I can buy the cable today, and tomorrow evening it's delivered to my door! No gas wasted and I have those two hours to accomplish other things." The parts store guy said "Well, that's the deal..." Well, I saved a couple dollars, a couple hours, and I still got the cable I needed...

This cable worked perfectly. Be sure to lubricate it with white lithium grease. I used the WD-40 version. Remove the cable from the sleeve, spray the grease into it, and then re-insert the cable. I let it sit with both ends eleveated for a few minutes and then let any extra grease drain out. As a result, the speedometer is smooth with zero bouncing. Excellent product.

Would of been 5 star if the end would go through the factory fire wall hole. Other than that it works great.

The cable comes with a hex head connector rather than the knurled round connector on the factory cable. I had to file down this hex head to get it to fit through the firewall opening. The interior shaft is a slightly smaller diameter than the original as well, but it is large enough to work.update: The interior shaft is smaller and slips in the gears, casuing the speedo to bounce. I wasted my money on this

Hooked up to the aftermarket omix Ada gauge cluster and the Dana 18. Length was perfect for the th350 swap.

This able will not work on a 1981 CJ7 with SR4 transmission. Speedometer end was too big to go through factory hole in the firewall and was hard to tighten on the transmission. After 45 minutes to install it only to have to uninstaller it because it doesn't work. Should be no stars.
