Several of the heater vent cables in my Jeep were broken, difficult to move when pulled, and had separated from the dash where they were mounted. After considering my options and based on the prior purchase of an Omix-Ada product, I purchased this Heater Vent Cable kit and installed it. While the task of routing the cables is a bit of a trick due to tight working space, I acomplished the job and am very pleased with the fit and function of these cables.

The cables work but the quality is certainly not the best. Everything works as it should so I cannot complain about that. Lots of plastic where I think that metal should be.

You really don't have a choice for heater vent cables for the Jeep CJs other than these, so I'm glad they still make them. These are okay. But when you manipulate them even a little bit, the shiny chromed plastic covers pop off. I am waiting for the knobs to pull off, as I have read they do over time. Then, I'll bond on a set of metal cover collars and JB-weld the knobs back on. The positive: The lengths are correct.

Really we have no choice for a lot of these parts for the CJ's, but these are pretty decent. They fit correctly, although the knob ends certainly will never hold up for long. But they fit right and look good.

Despite being listed as fitting my vehicle, they didn't fit properly in the hole. During installation, the recently painted dash was chipped as the clips were to large for the holes. I realized I needed to try to modify them to get them to actually fit, but one of the heads snapped off during the first attempt at installation. The cable for the Heat/Vent will not even pull out far enough to enable Vent mode to work. I ended up using all but one of the old cables as these were garbage. Just for reference, I've had 30 years in the auto-body field, so I'm familiar with this kind of work. Do not buy. Don't. They're a waste of money.

As stated in other reviews the quality could be better, but at least they shipped 3 cables in the box unlike the other manufacture which only included 2 of 3 and required me to return them and reorder.
