I purchased the queen size, 30lb version of this blanket for my partner's birthday. When it arrived, I could not believe how heavy it was (the included carry case is not only a wonderful touch, it is actually necessary to move this thing from place to place). I read a bunch of articles on the proper weight to get, the risks and benefits, blahblahblah, and most indicated that, for our combined body weight (350lbs), this is a bit too heavy. But the customer reviews of blankets of this size were, for the most part, largely in favor of ignoring those articles, so I decided to just go with it and, if it proved too heavy, the gift could still be received as it was intended (with love and thoughtfulness), and that we didn't ever need to use it if it came down to that. The first night, when I first settled myself underneath it, I had a moment of panic at the weight of it. I felt trapped. But the gift was not for me, so I just wriggled my foot out the side and felt suddenly better. Within ten minutes, I didn't want to move. Which is the danger. When I walk past the bedroom to my office, I see this beautiful blanket and want to immediately crawl under it. If I don't set several alarms, I will readily turn off the one and go back to sleep. I look forward every day to crawling underneath its comforting weight. I am hopelessly in love with this blanket. In terms of construction, the blanket's sides each serve a different purpose. I've only been using it for a few weeks, so I haven't had much cause to use the "cooling" side, though at a touch I don't doubt that it is effective (and beautiful). I've been using the plush side to sleep under, and it warms without overheating. Because of the regular pouches of little glass beads (which provide it with its weight), and because of the bamboo-rayon fabric (which is fabulous, both more absorbent and more breathable than cotton), I dare not put it in the washing machine except in dire need, so I make sure to have a sheet between it and myself. Frankly, however, if it comes down to a need for heavy laundering -- I will take the risk and, if the blanket becomes damaged, and if I can't just throw a stitch or two into it to reseal the bead pouch that may come loose, I will consider this blanket to have been worth every cent. A few quick real-deal warnings: this blanket is, in fact, heavy. You cannot just throw it on the bed and call it a day. You will have to move around to lay it out, and when you are sleeping, you can't just roll over in your sleep and expect the blanket to roll with you. For those of you with blanket-steeling partners, this actually proves to be a major benefit (as does the added width they've given this blanket so that it hangs a good bit over the edges of the bed), and I find I do a lot less tossing and turning when I use this blanket. But still, it's something to consider. Some notes on appearances: the blanket's sides are a light and dark gray, respectively, one rather shiny and lovely, the other soft and inviting. I purchased a grey silk pillowcase for my partner as well, and because of the duo-tone-grey design of the blanket, the pillowcase was an easy and perfect match for the blanket. Also, if you intend to surprise somebody with this blanket, make sure you lay it out a good 30-60 minutes before they're to discover it -- it gets a touch crinkled in the carry-bag. However, because of the lovely weight of it, once it's stretched over the bed it is almost self-smoothing. You can press it smooth with your hands and then if you leave it it basically takes care of its own smoothing.

I absolutely love this weighted blanket! The quality is outstanding—no issues with the beads coming loose, even after multiple washes. It’s built to last and feels premium in every way.One of the standout features is the dual-sided design. The cooling side is perfect for warm nights, while the other side provides just the right amount of insulation to keep you cozy when it’s colder. It’s like having two blankets in one!The weight is ideal for us at 15 pounds—it offers the calming pressure we need without feeling suffocating or restrictive. We tried a heavier option before, but it was too hard to move around. This one strikes the perfect balance between comfort and functionality. If you’re looking for a high-quality weighted blanket with thoughtful design, this is the one to get. Highly recommend!

We have been using this blanket for two years and will never go back to another comforter. We love how it drapes around our body and comforts us while we sleep. It has one side that is fleece for the winter and the other side, which is silky. I have looked at blankets equivalent that are much more money and this is by far the best for the price.

We love this weighted blanket! It have a lot of weight to it and at first I was not so sure but now I have trouble sleeping without it. It’s so comforting. I but the softer side toward my body as I usually forgo a top sheet and this might be the cause of this blankets only downfall. It does tend to slip off the end of the bed and with it being so heavy it’s a pain pulling it up if you are all ready in bed. But other than that. I love it. I have not washed it yet but have spot cleaned it and it’s easy to clear with the microfiber feel on one side and the almost waterproof type polyester type feel on the other. I got the dark gray color and it goes with all my other sheet sets making it the perfect pairing!

Such a soft blanket! It's very easy to unfold and refold for easy storage and it does a great job at providing that constant pressure. I've been using it for months now and there's no visible signs of wear either! Just make sure you wash it by itself! A blanket of this size and weight is a lot for a washing machine

Wow wow wow. I got this delivered 2 days ago. Literally the best 2 nights of sleep I've had in years. I haven't slept this good since I was a teenager (34 now) I usually don't leave reviews but sweet baby jesus on a swaddling stick, I feel rested. (Not sure what a swaddling stick is but it sounds nice)I was worried about it not being a king sized blanket and just saying it was. It really is. I was also worried about it making me too hot when I sleep (6'3" 280lbs) since I run hot when I sleep anyways. This was not the case at all. I actually slept cooler than with my previous comforter that was clearly inferior. I used the silky side down. It's says it's cooling and they weren't lying.I will say it is pretty heavy. 40lbs doesn't sound like much but it is. I recomend do not take it out of the carrying case before you get it to your bedroom. That was a production. Haha. Even for me and I'm pretty strong. Mostly because it's heavy and super soft and silky like so it slips over itself. I definitely recommend the 40lbs though. These last 2 mornings I have felt so rested even my husband noticed I'm much more cheerful these past few morning and that's before coffee. I love no one before coffee and am mildly not friendly usually. It's crazy what a good night sleep will do.It seems a little expensive but it's definitely worth the price. You can't really put a price on good quality sleep.Do yourself a favor and get a weighted blanket. Hell, it doesn't even have to be this one (although there is no problems with this one. It's very true to description and I'm loving it)

I love it! I get really hot at night so the cooling side is perfect. When i am sick however, i get super cold so the warm duvet side is great.Once i'm under, it dosent even feel very heavy but when trying to lift it to move it around there is no mistaking it'a heavy!!My only concern is that im not sure how i'll wash it since there isnt a removable cover, but i'll figure that out.Definetly recommend it! Cheaper than other brands like Lush (wr have 1 of those too) but just as good quality! So you can't go wrong with this!

Forty pounds is a lot. There is no way I can machine wash this because when soaked with water it will weight a hundred pounds. It seems and warm. They DO NOT misadvertise - I just didn’t contemplate how heavy a 40 pound blanket would be. I should have, because the seller says 40 pounds. I would buy 15-20 pounds next time.
