Bought a pair of Sundolphin Excursion 10' sit-in kayaks this past spring. Did a ton of research before buying a pair of these vests.Can't imagine a vest being more comfortable. The high padding on the back sits just above the upper lip of the rear of the cockpit. Fit perfectly for me and for her with minimal adjustments. That mesh you see on the back below the padding keeps everything snug. Great design idea. If the straps went right to the padding in the back I can imagine the front or back riding up depending on sizing and motion bit this works perfectly and keeps it from rubbing up on the back of the seating area on a sit-in. Sizing was perfect. The vertical angled line down the front of the vest provides a break in the foam inserts that allows the whole unit to wrap around your chest instead of feeling like you have two slabs of styrofoam duct-taped to the front of your body.Large arm openings provides great range of motion and these vests are incredibly light. You honestly don't even remember you're wearing this vest until you pull your yak out of the water and realize, "oh yeah, I have to take the vest off".Has a zippered pocket that's easily accessible and comes with an emergency whistle.Really nice vest and highly deserving of what looks like a hundred percent 5 star rating.Thanks for reading. Very well fitting lifejacket for my new kayak. Good options (lanyard look and small pocket), but I have not used them yet. Fits very well on my 6'0 225 frame, with no limitations of movement. I have not yet gone overboard, but confident it will be there for me.I hope this helps you decide.

Very comfortable and well fitted life vest. Definitely gear towards the paddling community. I've written this vest for hours fishing in a kayak and have yet to feel hindered by it. Doesn't seem to got either in the va summer. But I just wear the vest when it's got. Has pieces of rejective material in higher areas on the best so they have a better chance of not being blocked by an object or a high back seat.UPDATE: I had the unexpected opportunity to test this PFD out, when I flipped my kayak while anchored fishing in a river with a dangerous rip current(signs are posted everywhere). I'm 195-200 lbs but I was wearing wool socks, dive booties, fleece pants, long sleeve shirt, fleece cap and a west marine boat crew elements jacket. This PFD worked like a charm even with all those clothes completely soaked in water along with my body weight. When I flipped I was thruster under the kayak and the current sucked my down the river and out to the side of the kayak. Now granted I'm a better than average swimmer but the PFD did its initial job and that is to assist the wearer in resurfacing and to keep the wearer partly above water. My swimming came into play due to the extremely strong undercurrent and my necessity to get back in my kayak and get out of the 50 degree F water, so I could get back to land.... alive. The vest allowed me full range of motion to swim to my capabilities and allowed the range of motion needed to flip a Hobie Pro Angler upright. I now give an even stronger rating to this PFD.

I purchased one two years ago and then ended up going back to the same seller to purchase another one recently. The design of the life vest allows full range of motion for Kayaking and the comfort fit allows for all day wear without concern of any rashes. There is a spot on the front of the life vest that i believe allows for a camera, but without the attachment I wasn't able to mount my Gopro. (though I prefer it located on the front of my Kayak anyway). It also has a built in whistle that is attached to the life vest that can definitely come in handy. The zippers are YKK and good quality. Lastly, i don't recommend this for under 12 years old. I think this is designed more so for that 13+ range of active water sport participants that are better swimmers.

I hope to never use it , but if it ever happens, I feel the ease of comfort and its adjustability makes it a good fit . I’m a fishing kayaker with vary little swimming abilities, this PFD should help one of these days ðŸ™ðŸ½ðŸ™ðŸ½

This is a great vest for any sailor or kayaker. It is Coast Guard approved and has a whistle and front pocket. It was hard to find a decent life vest that was CGA and good quality but this fit the task.

1st try:5’9. 210 lbs. Chest 48. Ordered XL. Way oversized. By the time I adjusted straps they would be whipping in the win. Returned and will try a medium2nd try: Medium/ Large and fit perfect. Extremely comfortable. Most importantly the back of the PFD was above my kayak seat. For years I constantly fought the PFD being right at seat or below upper height on seat level. Had to keep adjusting my position while in water. This looks like it will always be at good level

OK so this is the second one of these I have purchased, we were so pleased with the first we got another for the wife. They can be widely adjusted so a tailored fit for all shapes and sizes is possible and what I love is that they are light. We use ours on SUP,s when off the coast as its sometimes gets choppy so better safe than sorry. The best bit is I forget its on, not interference with paddling and in summer heat they are light and airy. They also help you float real well, and I guess thats the point. So for the Kayak and the SUP I am dead chuffed, so from this Brit, recommended.

This is a fantastic PFD for paddlers - shoulders are cut so there is no rubbing or discomfort when paddling. Back is 1/2 mesh to allow for the backrest on my kayak so it doesn’t ride up and strangle my armpits. Also it comes with an attached whistle in the front pocket for those who belong to a paddle club that requires one for group trips - yay! Definitely great value for the money - couldn’t find anything within the $100 of this price locally.

Purchased this life jacket for kayaking. Works well, very comfortable with the mesh lower back. Lots of space for arm movement and it doesn't ride up. One complaint, I must be between sizes. My chest measures 38". Following the chest measurement chart, I bought the M/L and to fit properly, I had to tightened it to the maximum. Maybe I should have purchased the XS/S.

I love it! It’s very comfortable, fits great, with lots of room for bulkier clothes. Could use a bit more storage, but I knew what I was getting when I ordered it. High back fits my advanced elements kayak seat perfectly, and prevents riding up.

Great pfd!! Would buy it again. I ordered a medium/large and it fit perfectly. I’m 5’7â€, 147lbs with an athletic build (female). Thought it was going to be big but is perfect. I use it on my paddle board so lots of paddling and movement. Great flotation in the water on my front or back and supports my head while on my back.
