No effort few bolts and easy to install wench for a solid boat trailer it pulls my 3k lbs boat onto trailer just fine in fact, it almost ripped the pull hook off lmao

I have a another boat 18ft 20 old and never had a winch fail. Purchase in 2020 an OPENROAD 2500LB 2 gear winch, getting older to replace the single gear to winch easier. I have a 16ft 1050lb boat wanted a heavy duty winch so would not have to worry about it failing. So I used the boat in the summer on the weekend so average 18 trips a year of loading the boat. It failed august 30th the winch gear failed and would not hold the cable tight. As soon as you pulled the trailer up a few feet on the up the ramp the gear popped loose and boat rolls back to be stopped by the safety change. you cant tow it that way, had to tie a rope to the boat and trailer to tow it home. If I had a larger boat this probably would not have lasted 30 days. The Steel gear and Clip are made of inferior steel it is not hard enough and it rounded just a little that it slips releasing the gear into free spool. There is no way to replace the failed part. There is also no way to communicate with the seller that I can find.

The winch seems to be good quality and work great, but the cable is not very stong. I broke the cable just by cranking the winch and I didn't try hard, I since replaced with better cable.
