I purchased 9 months ago and thought it had broken shortly after that. It looked like the photos showing a loose wire. I found it's all one wire and after pressing a little on each separate wire section, they all looked even and tight enough to fit through the slots and cut. It worked like new.

I bought this 3 months ago and today is the third time i tried using it. I have only sliced hard-boiled eggs with it. So I put one egg in it and it sliced just fine. I put the second egg again and it wouldn’t go all the way down. I finally figured out that the little pieces of wire that sliced the egg were stretched out and one wire was out of place so the slicer top would not go down. So two times for five bucks isn’t bad but if you want something that will last don’t buy this. I also have a metal egg slicer that was my mothers and has to be at least 40 years old. It’s still works just fine and as intended. I only got a new one because my granddaughter loves sliced hard boiled eggs, and the other one looks pretty old and raunchy. It’s really true that things are not made to last. How disappointing. This is inexpensive, but put that towards a quality product if you want it to last for a while.

This egg slicer works very easily, and cuts perfectly. I have only had it a few days so far, but it also cleans easily, and the large operating handle makes it easy to use and keep hands clear at the same time.
