Buckwheat is such a great, fast-growing crop to plant. Let it grow for 2 or 3 weeks, then turn it under. Great for improving soil in raised beds, as when you turn it under it provides food to enhance the helpful critters who live in your garden soil. You can plant it in late fall, turn it under to compost over the winter. This seed germinated fantastically. I even sprouted some to feed the chickens.

My first year using a cover crop in our garden. This sprouted well and was very pretty with lots of white flowers.

I haphazardly spread these seeds into a garden bed I’m trying to revive as cover crop. Within 4 days the seeds were sprouting and looks like pretty up every single one came up. The soil is abysmal to start and I mixed in some left over compost to at least get something in there to help things along. But that’s all I did other than giving the soil a good drench.

It is blooming and beautiful. It is attracting wasps and beetles. My honey bees don't touch it. I would plant it again, because it is pretty. It will fall over a bit in the middle, due to the weight after rain, and it stays on the ground. It is kind of cool though. I have never planted buckwheat before, so why not?!

Great for cover crop and pollinators. Working on improving soil fertility in my sandy garden area and planted this in early spring. Excellent germination. The bees love it. Grew tall and fast. Can't ask for better. I will definitely buy this brand again.

Used as a cover crop, keeps weeds out and roots add fiber

Looked good and good value, but failed to germinate in the fall. Will probably try them again in the spring and update after that.

We are using the buckwheat to loosen our soil so we can grow a healthier lawn. We have used the full bag now for a space about 1100sq ft and we still have barren spots despite using topsoil and peat to get it growing.
