When I first received this tape, I was very disappointed because it was not sticky at all. And then I took the advice of previous reviewers and used a spritz of water (not heat) and it now sticks better than anything I have purchased in the past. I will definitely buy this again.

Works perfect holding fabric together long enough for me to get it sewn & not sticky for my machine needles.

Second time I received this, the first time some rolls were defective, but this time 4 out of 4 rolls were defective; the tape was not sticky on either side. Totally useless to me. I ordered it late February and it is past the return date( late March) and I just opened it yesterday and checked/tried to use all 4 rolls. I want a refund. Am I out of luck? And I never heard from the manufacturer the first time I complained. Do not buy this tape. UPDATE: the company offered me $6, I declined and waited two more weeks then called Amazon and was given a full refund of $13.70 Which is good because I am a huge customer for Amazon.

I got about 10x as much on this roll as I did with the big box store name brand stuff and it works as well. If you sew and need accurate placement for seams, zippers, etc. this stuff is a game changer. I don't use it for piecing quilts, but it comes in very handy for other sewing uses.

I purchased this specifically for my sewing techniques, particularly for zipper insertion. I have found that the first roll that I am using is not sticky enough to keep the zipper in place as I move my project from the ironing board to the sewing machine.I would also like to have some instructions about how to use the tape included with the package.Particular instructions that I would be interested in are#1 ways to apply tape (Do I merely press it in place with my fingers or do I use a form of heat to adhere?)#2 Storage (Do I need to protect it from dry conditions to keep the adhesive at it’s optimum state?)#3 Application uses (Especially useful for securing items in clothing and craft construction that require accurate positioning without using pins.)Examples: zipper application, hem placement (especially when sewing with knits, binding edges of necklines, and self binding of sleeves and necklines)#4 This is a “wash away†adhesive. It is made for sewing machine use and will not gum up your needle. It can be used in knits to help prevent puckering of fabric in hems and areas that have tendency to stretch when sewing.I have only used this with zipper applications and self binding sleeves and neck binding, thus far. I hope as I get further into the roll of tape that the adhesive will stick a little better.

I always wondered if I would be wasting my money buying a wash away tape instead of just taking my time sewing in my zippers and after buying this tape I wish I would have invested sooner.I have saved so much time using this tape. It works perfectly and I haven't had any of the problems some other people have had with it not sticking, mine has stuck on my bags perfectly when I'm putting in my zippers and I have no slipping in between the layers

This is great for holding a hem in place, or things similar to that. It's double sided tape with a heavy plastic backing. You unroll a bit from the spool and press it in place, unrolling as you go; the plastic backing stays on the outside, preventing the tape from either randomly sticking to anything and everything, or collecting lots of lint and fuzz, and losing its stickiness. After you've gone all the way around, be certain to press one end down very hard with your fingernail; that will make the backing separate from the tape easily, leaving the tape on the fabric, so the 2 layers can be stuck together on a temporary basis, making stitching easier. Note that this has no stretch, so if, for example, you use it to put a neckband in place before stitching it, you'll have to wash it in order to put the garment over your head. This tape does wash out in the laundry, and leaves no residue. I have ordered this twice, so you know it functions very well. However, and this is something you have to be prepared for: this tape comes with a very unpleasant smell about it. In order to get the smell to disperse, I put it outside on my porch (under a roof, right next to the house) to air out for a week. That was super annoying, and I deducted 2 stars for the odor problem. I will, however, continue to buy it and store it on my back porch until it no longer smells bad.

I absolutely love this wash away tape. I have been using it to assist with holding ribbons on fabric when making ribbon skirts. It lays on the fabric nicely and the backing peels off perfectly. It holds the ribbon to the fabric wonderfully. It is also forgiving and allows you to adjust the ribbon if needed. Once the ribbon is sewn on, it washes away and you never see any trace of the tape under the ribbon. I have seen others who use the iron on seam tape to adhere the ribbon to the fabric. Iron on seam tape never goes away and you can see it through the ribbon. This wash away tape has been a game changer for producing beautiful, professional looking ribbon skirts. I LOVE IT!!!

It’s nice and sticky, and it really does wash out. I’ve been using it for a professional project and I’m hooked.

I bought this as well as the more expensive Prym version and i'm almost certain they're the exact same product. Both do the same job and are just as sticky, so i'll be sticking to this tape in future (sorry for the pun). Its an absolute must for getting neat hems and edges in stretchy fabric. I was trying all sorts of tips and tricks i'd seen on Youtube, but just couldn't get a good edge that wasn't wavy. I tried this tape and couldn't believe how good the results looked. The tape stops the fabric from stretching and gives it some rigidity, so the machine can make perfect zigzag stitches without pulling the fabric together and creating a weird creased tunnel. Also great for adding elastic to the stretch fabric for creating stretchy openings. I added some to the unstretched fabric and then stuck the stretched elastic to it and the tape is sticky enough to hold the stretched elastic.Another thing I have found it comes in very handy for sewing in zippers as pins can often distort the fabric so its hard to get a nice neat top stitch. This tape holds the zip in place and allows you to get a nice neat line of stitching. Its expensive for what is a tiny roll of tape, but the results are well worth the cost if you're just making small amounts and want the results to look as good as possible.

I used this to secure a zip in place before sewing. It's so much easier than pins and it washes out so perfect and convenient
