I love my owl. Have had it up for a year, even though winter. He works per described. He does not detour deer or birds. That surprised me. It makes noise and light and moves. But he makes a very cute yard decoration.

Of Of course we had to name him. We previously bought one that was stationary and only would move if the wind caught the back of it and it didn't do any good to keep the crows away. This one works like a charm. We put him in the front where it is motion activated and turns when the cars go by. We put it out every morning and bring it in in the evening and it has been keeping the crows away since we purchased it.

I ended up returning this product as the motion sensor was whacky. I let the owl charge in my driveway for several hours and I tested the motion detector by walking around my driveway. It worked exactly as expected as long as I stayed on the driveway and it worked at a very long range, maybe 15 feet or so away from the owl. If I moved a couple of inches into the grass and walked around, the motion detector didn't work at all! I moved the owl closer to the edge of my driveway and walked around - it would only detect motion if my feet were on the driveway - totally failed if I walked in the grass. I placed the owl on the ground in the grass and again the motion detector totally failed unless I walked all the way over to the owl so that my feet were directly next to the owl. I tried setting the owl on a plastic milk crate - again worked great in the driveway but totally failed when sitting on a milk crate in the lawn. I have no idea how the motion detector is supposed to work, but the performance was really crazy and I needed it to work sitting on the lawn.

I would like it a little heavier so it doesn't blow over in wind.It did work for a while, but they get used to it and it stops working.Cute little scarecrow if you move it now and then to keep them from getting used to it.

This owl has been keeping all the pests off of my avocado tree!. I haven't seen any birds, squirrels, rabbits, mice, and even lizards. These wild lives have been eating all of my avocados before they ripen and I still have yet to eat one. All of the rabbit and rodent droppings, and bird poops have been driving me crazy! My dogs like to eat rabbit poop for some reason and it gives them diarrhea. The lizards, squirrels and rabbits drive my 2 German Shepherds crazy. They are pawing at the sliding glass door, scratching the newly replaced glass. I really and impressed with how well this owl works. It charges well both by solar or by charging chord. Only one downside is that I have to move it every day to a new location.

I bought this to deter stray cats from pooping in our flower bed and jumping on our cars. The first week was great it did the job and our neighbors were impressed. Yo be honest some cats hated it but some were curious about it. The second and third week it does not hold a charge. I’ve plugged it in and kept it under the sun but after a couple of hours it’s no longer working. So now I’m back to square one.Such a shame because I was really excited about it.

Well, my wife loves to feed the birds and squirrels in our backyard and they gather early for their expected feast. A few crows are in the mix, and we started hearing a tapping sound at the back glass door pane. It was the crows flying right up to the glass and tapping on it making quite a racket. My initial choice of deterrent was a BB gun or poison, but my wife dubbed those choices a bit extreme. So I found this and read about it and other models. Chose this one as the solar power option and moving parts were attractive to me in terms of upping its chance of success. We mounted it at window level on the brick wall right next to the door. To my surprise, its been over a week and no crow drum solos. So far, it has worked flawlessly. Thanks for a great product.

The owl works, but it did not achieve what we needed it to achiever which was to deter squirrels. We moved it around daily, the critters would climb up the fence right next to it. A failed experiment.

Purchased this product to deter squirrels from chewing my garage lead roof. I thought it would charge itself by solar and therefore could be left in position on the flat lead roof but the rotating head kept returning to different positions and therefore the solar panel was rarely in the correct position facing any sun.I got fed up keep climbing on the roof to retrieve the owl for charging so now don't bother using it.
