I used this as a direct replacement for a 1N34A in an early '60s radio. The application was AM detector. The diode worked perfectly and out-performed others including a Schottky. If you're restoring antique electronics, this is a great choice.One negative reviewer said what he received was not germanium. The ones I received definitely were. Hopefully, that won't happen again.

These were described as Germanium, But is actually a DO-35 silicon diode. I now have to order the correct type which will cost more money.
