I use these on the end of a garden hose to adjust how much water is coming out without having to run back to the faucet and adjust. I just added male and female hose fittings to do this. I'm ecstatic with this purchase, especially the price and quality

Many reviews of 1/2" ball valves here on Amazon complain that the pipe threads of the valves are not tapered. This valve does indeed have the correctly tapered NPT pipe threads. It installed easily and works just fine. I have found that in pressurized pipe, the best way to seal the fitting is to first apply two wraps of teflon tape, then apply a thin layer of non-hardening pipe thread putty (not liquid sealant), then screw the fittings together. Doing it this way makes for an excellent seal, while making it easy to unscrew the connection later, if you need to take it back apart. It also keeps the threads on the male fitting clean of sealant compound.

Looks like good quality product. Installed and works fine. Do be mindful to ensure there is plenty of space to turn the on off handle due to its length
