About this item

  • 400 to 500 pounds is the norm for these heavily ribbed beauties, the Dill's Atlantic Giantic Pumpkin. Rough-skinned and beautifully ribbed, the pumpkins just keep going and going at an astonishing rate. You've got to try it for yourself!
  • Pumpkins are exceptionally easy to grow, given adequate space and patience! Sow the seeds outdoors when danger of frost is past, or start indoors in peat pots. Plant the seedlings (or thin to) 3 to 5 feet apart.
  • Use paper container/other type of fiber material that will peel away from roots w/o causing any damage if you want to start them indoor.Add only 1 seedling to each container.Peat pots are good,as they can be planted as-is,thus minimizing root disturbance
  • Pumpkins are best direct sown outdoors after all danger of frost has passed in the spring and the soil has warmed. They can be sown indoors (at a temperature of 70 to 75 degrees F) 2 to 3 weeks before planting out, but direct sowing is recommended.
  • If you want Pumpkins for Halloween, plant from late May (in northern climates) to early July (in extremely southern locations). Keep in mind that if your Pumpkins are planted too early they may rot before Halloween.

150 Years and Still Growing

Park Seed

One of America's oldest and largest mail-order seed and plant companies, the Geo. W. Park Seed Company, was founded in 1868 by 15-year-old George W. Park in Libonia, Pennsylvania. Today our gardeners number in the millions, yet we still adhere to Mr. Park's original motto. We may be connecting online through social media rather than handwritten letters, but the spirit and the result is the same: bringing the joys of gardening to as many people as possible.

Give Pumpkins Room to Grow

Pumpkin vines spread fast and can reach up to 20 feet long, so they need plenty of space! To maximize growth, plant them in mounds of well-draining soil about 4–6 feet apart. This improves air circulation and prevents overcrowding. For smaller gardens, try trellising smaller varieties to save space. Regular watering, full sun, and rich soil will keep them thriving, ensuring big, healthy pumpkins by harvest time!

Fast Growers

Hoping for a giant pumpkin this year. Wyoming has a short growing season, so I'm really going to start a couple this spring -- then more in August. We'll see. But this looks like a good start!

I purchased these a few years ago and have long ago thrown the packet away. Just popped up in my review list though and I remembered how annoyed I was so I decided to leave a review. None of them ever even sprouted . All my other brands/packets of pumpkin seed varieties did. I tried these several times and two years in a row even then gave up and threw packet away. Will not buy from this company again.

Seeds where pretty small for Atlantic Giant seeds. There were 2 seeds that were clearly not fully developed in the pack but they still sent them. I rated 4 stars because its still to early to tell how the plants will turn out. I'll revise it once I they've grown for a while.

This is my second year planting my own pumpkins, last year I did Jack O’ Lantern pumpkins and had a decent yield. The last week in June, I ordered these seeds, and planted first week in July. Pretty late, but I live in the desert southwest so fall doesn’t really get cold, so I figured give it a shot.9 of the 10 seeds sprouted, and held up to 30 consecutive days of100 degrees plus temps. I did not prune anything back, no plant food, just New Mexico sun and water. I am very pleased with the results. It’s December week 2 and I still have plants flowering.
