Product Description

A dirty bicycle drivetrain causes poor shifting and unnecessary wear to expensive parts. The Park Tool Chain Gang contains everything needed to quickly and easily clean the chain, freewheel cogs, and chainrings. The Chain Gang includes a CM-5.3 Cyclone Chain Scrubber, a GSC-1 GearClean Brush, and an 8 oz bottle of CB-4 Bio ChainBrite.

Park Tool chain cleaner scrubbing a mountain bike chain

CM-5.3 Cyclone Chain Scrubber

Cleans bicycle chains quickly, easily, and effectively — without the hassle and mess of removing the chain from the bike. The Park Tool CM-5.3 Cyclone Chain Scrubber uses an extra-large solvent reservoir and a series of rotating brushes to get chains sparkling clean. A magnet at the bottom of the Cyclone’s solvent reservoir draws particles scrubbed from the chain, effectively keeping them from being redistributed on the chain during cleaning. The durable sponge material draws solvent from the chain as it exits the Cyclone, reducing drips and mess. The brushes and sponge of the CM-5.3 are replaceable (part # RBS-5).

Park Tool chain cleaner cleaning front drive electronic bike drivetrain

Compatible with e-bike systems

To make the CM-5.3 easy to control and use, we've added a reversible handle, allowing the chain to pass through in either direction for compatibility with center drive e-bikes. Compatible with all multi and single-speed bikes as well as both center and rear drive e-bikes.

Park Tool GSC-1 Gear Brush

GSC-1 GearClean Brush

Park Tool’s GSC-1 GearClean Brush has a unique design. A large comfortable handle with a curved, toothed-end reaches dirt deep between the gears, and tough nylon bristles clean the derailleur and chain. Saves wear and tear on your chain and freewheel. Works great on brakes or other places where dirt collects.

Pouring Park Tool CB-4 degreaser into bicycle chain cleaner

CB-4 Bio ChainBrite

Park Tool Bio ChainBrite Bicycle Chain and Component Cleaning Fluid is a 100% biodegradable, natural, plant-based degreaser formulated for use in the CM-5.3 Cyclone Chain Scrubber, or with a scrubbing brush as a general purpose degreaser. When used with a chain cleaner, CB-4 gets bicycle chains clean inside and out so they're good as new. Will not harm alloy, plastic, rubber, or carbon fiber parts, so it's safe to use for cleaning cassettes, chainrings, pulleys, or any other component that accumulates muck and grime.

Anyone who likes to maintain their own bike absolutely needs one of these in their tool kit arsenal. Prior to using this chain cleaner, I was simply lubing my chain and wiping off any grime that had accumulated over time. Realizing that I couldn’t get my chain super clean this way, I remembered selling this cleaning kit when I worked at a bike shop way back in the day and thought I’d give it a try. I’m very impressed. Following the easy-to-use instructions, my chain was super clean within 10 minutes after use. I used this kit multiple times since my wife’s bike chain needed cleaning as well and it worked like a charm. It does take a lot of cleaning solution, however. The kit comes with a bottle of cleaning solution that should get you through 3-4 cleanings before having to purchase another bottle.Overall durability of the kit is great. It’s built well and very easy to install/uninstall. Just get ready to get a bit dirty. I wear protective gloves and my garage clothes when cleaning my bike so I’m not worries about ruining my clothes. For the value of being able to clean your own drivetrain, this kit is well worth the money. It’s takes very little time to use and even comes with a brush for cleaning your cassette (gears).Great product!

I have never cleaned or maintained my bike chain until I bought my new bike. I learned the importance of maintaining my bike chain. This tool made the cleaning process so easy and seamless and the entire process took no more than 30 mins. Amazing tool, fairly priced and well built.

If you have a bike work stand, I highly recommend using it to use this to clean your chain. Do not put your bicycle upside down to do this on its seat it will make your job harder and messier. If you don’t have a bike stand, it helps a lot to have someone lift up the rear of the bike slightly off the floor. If you were thinking this tool will be clean and easy to use because it’s expensive, think again. It has a slight learning curve. Put the bike in biggest front chainring and largest rear sprocket and cycle backwards, then forwards 2-3 times each direction. For a really dirty chain, change out the cleaning solution twice and wipe chain and sprockets with old throw away rags before going for additional rounds with fresh solvent to finish the job cleaner and faster. It is normal to have a bit of cleaner spray or drip out of the tool when using, so do this outside or somewhere you can get dirty and don’t wear nice clothes. When i ran out of cleaning solution, a cheap alternative is natural orange based biodegradable degreaser from the dollar tree. I highly recommend that. This tool has held up better than the cheaper ones out there that are 1/3 of the price. The cheaper imitation tools often have softer bristles that bend and give out faster, as well as having inner gears that have more clearance slop leading to clunkier performance and spraying out more solvent (dirtier) out of the tool and often drip out solvent from the seams, indicating a lack of sealing capability from the tool body. This is tool not perfect but it makes chain maintenance less of a hassle than no tool or worse, dealing with lower quality chain cleaner tools that make more of a mess and are more akward to use.The chain and cog brush provided have good, thick and stiff cleaning brushes that feel like they will last quite a while, the brush body also feels substantial and rigid. It’s expensive, but buy once, cry once and be done with it for the avid cyclist.Overall, I recommend this tool. If this review helped you form a purchase/no purchase decision, please mark it as helpful. I would thoroughly appreciate it! Have a great day!

This is a great solution if you don't have a garage or space for a proper bike stand. It took a while to remove the muck from my chain but now that it's in good condition, it'll be a lot easier to keep clean. I'm very happy with how well this product worked! 👍🏼

Prior to buying this product, I just occasionally used an aerosol can that was supposed to be a degreaser/lubricant combined. It, along with some rags, did a decent job on the chain, but I never had any tool to clean the sprocket. After reading the reviews on this product, I was impressed and decided to give it a try. Here are my impressions: The instructions were very easy to follow. I don't have a bike stand, so I leaned the handlebar of the bike up against a wall, inserted the chain into the device and moved the pedal backwards to degrease it. (I soon discovered that the bike wanted to move backwards, so I had someone help me hold the brake to prevent that movement. If I were doing it by myself, I would simply tie something around the brake control on the handlebar in order to keep it engaged.)Rather than using the supplied degreaser, I used Simple Green, which is much cheaper, and worked really well. The brush used to clean the sprockets got them cleaner than they have been in 10 years, but I did notice a few bristles from the brush got stuck in the chain. They were removed with a little effort. After degreasing everything, I emptied the contents of the plastic container, cleaned it out, and started to lubricate the chain. Overall, this method of cleaning/degreasing was not nearly as messy as my old method.  That came as a total surprise to me, as I was expecting somewhat of a mess. After finishing everything, I took the bike for a test ride. I started hearing a strange noise coming from the rear wheel, but I had a hard time isolating it. After some time, I found out that problem was the Simple Green had removed the lubricant from the wheel bearings. After I re-lubed that, there was no sound at all, and everything ran smoothly.

Ho pulito in pochissimo tempo catene in condizioni terrificanti! La qualità dei materiali è alta e la profondità della pulizia è impeccabile. La qualità del prodotto ne giustifica il prezzo.
