My original pads...well, didnt have any pad left. Before trying to remove the bolt holding the retaining clip be sure to heat it up with a torch. If you snap that little (8mm?) bolt, good luck getting it out. HEAT THE BOLT. Putting on the brake show, like removing, just takes some patience to get the right angle. Otherwise, this is a easy, quality replacement.

This part is an exact match to the shoe it was replacing on my 01 chevy suburban. The retaining clip and nut that came with the shoe, however, does not fit. They are slightly larger than the originals (it does include an extra clip and nut though - both of the same size). I decided to use the old parts, but the nut snapped while tightening which made me have to shell out more cash for someone else to fix it for me, but this is an otherwise excellent part.

This product is described as a "kit" and the picture shows two brackets which made me think it included parking brake shoes for both sides of the vehicle. It does not, it contains only one brake shoe. This was probably my fault for not paying more attention but I do wish Amazon descriptions were, in general, more thorough. Otherwise the product looked like it would have been fine. I had already jacked the truck up when I discovered this so I ended up having a friend run to an auto parts store to buy a complete set.

These AC Delco shoes look just like the OEM golden shoe backing with light grey shoe lining. They fit just right with only minimal clearance on the inside of the rotors for minimal adjustment needed- which is what you want when replacing the parking brake shoes. You can buy aftermarket shoes for $10 each or $20 a set, but the ones I saw were black on black and the lining looked thinner which would mean more headache during adjustment when setting up the first time. Well worth the extra dollars in frustration and time compared to aftermarket I had used in the past.

What you see is what you get. Only one brake shoe. I don't know why two clips would be included when there's only one per side and they are identical. On my 2004 avalanche the clips did not fit, but the shoe did. I reused the old spring clip. Getting the shoes off and back on is a neat trick. No tools are required. Put one end of the shoe as close to the axle as possible and pull other end around the wheel flange. It reminds me of a country store horse shoe puzzle. Do not bother trying to pry the shoe around the flange. I thought it was a great price for 2; it's an ok price for 1. 1 was all I needed.

I had bought these for my 2002 GMC Yukon XL SLT 4x4. The Amazon compatibility chart said that this would fit, but I was unsure since it came with 2 clips and my vehicle only uses 1 clip. I thought you'd just get an extra one. NOT SO! GM used 2 different ones of these, one with 2 clips, one with 1 clip. This shoe fit on my vehicle but the clip was too large and kept the rotor from sliding over the shoe. My original clip broke during takeoff. I snapped the 8 mm bolt holding the clip and now have to pull the axle shaft and buy a new ACDelco 89026786 GM Original Equipment Rear Parking Brake Anchor Backing Plate Kit, since it can't be drilled out. What a disappointment! The shoe that only comes with 1 clip and a new 8 mm bolt is ACDelco 171-0941 GM Original Equipment Parking Brake Shoe Lining Kit and is also available from Amazon. Make sure to look if you have 1 clip or 2 clips before ordering these shoes otherwise you mess up your anchor backing plate and have hours of extra work.
