Simple brushes nothing special, you could buy them at any hardware in the paint department. But I was putting in a larger order and added them on. The price is probably better than hardware stores They are easy to clean, and will probably last a long while.

The brush bristles hold up well when used and then washed. Wood on the handles is nice. Good value for the set of 2.

Pastry brushes apparently now come in two kinds— natural bristles, and annoying silicone. I don’t like the silicone versions because of their “bristles†tendency to spring back and splatter, while natural bristles are usually stiffer and less inclined to splatter. Add to that my general desire to use more natural products in the kitchen and these are a good choice.The birch wood handles are attractive, as are the boar hair bristles. The brushes spread things such as melted butter, oil, and BBQ sauce smoothly, and the bristles are easily cleaned (by hand— I don’t think that I’d trust them in the dishwasher).Will they last forever in my kitchen? I doubt it— at some point they’ll start shedding bristles, like all such products. At just $4 apiece, I’ll probably just buy another set from the unpronounceable company, NXRACSH.

As a chef I have used very expensive boar bristle basting brushes (say that three times fast!) for years. I wanted to replace the ones I had, but was on a budget so I figured these would be a good stand-in and they are. The bristles are not all precisely even, but I don't expect a high quality brush for this price. However, they are much better made than I expected and they are holding up to the rigors of daily use in the kitchen without shedding any more than their expensive counterparts. I would definitely recommend them.

Only reason I did not give five small one was not glued. Had to do myself. Nice thing thre is no metal to rust.

I really hate silicone kitchen tools so this is perfect. Don’t come at me about this not being dishwasher friendly. You can hand wash your wooden pastry brush or you can have pastry that tastes like dishwasher detergent soaked silicone bristles. Up to you.
