This is not a typical use for such a product. I needed something to help protect the playing surface of a drum having the same diameter as the pads. You can buy "hats" for this kind of drum, but their inner protection pads aren't quite tough enough.I stacked the five round pads (with the felt facing outward at the top and bottom) and taped the edges to keep them together. With this stack inserted within the drum "hat," there's a firm extra layer of protection. Perfect fit. Works great.

For my application it worked great. Adhesive was sticky enough. Pad was soft enough to prevent scratches.
