I've been rocking the Babyprints Christmas Ornament magic for a solid 3 years now, and it's been one of the greatest additions to my Christmas tree!Is it worth the price?Totally! This little kit has earned its keep. While I did not use it to make baby footprints; I had enough material to turn it into not 1 but 2 sentimental ornaments with our first home's key prints and even our wedding rings. It's the ornament that keeps on giving!Positives:Easy peasy! The directions were very easy to follow and left little to no chance for mistakes. I went rogue and printed keys and rings, and they came out looking very sharp and detailed. The ornaments dried very fast and came with a snazzy red ribbon for hanging. Plus, these little ornaments are S-T-U-R-D-Y—no fear of it shattering like a plaster ornament.Neutral:Just a small wish—I kinda hoped for a few cutting shapes to jazz up the ornament's look. Had to pull out MY cookie cutter collection to get a more refined look.Negatives:Nada. Seriously, this kit is like Santa's workshop for crafting – all cheer, no coal.Overall:Crafting those ornaments was a blast, and now they're the VIPs on my Christmas tree for 3 years running. No regrets, just happy memories hanging from the branches. If you're looking to sprinkle some DIY magic into your holidays, this Babyprints Christmas Ornament kit is the real deal. Ho ho ho-approved!

This turned out so well! Such a good price and such easy to follow instructions! There is enough of the impression material to make more ornaments with a juice glass as the cutter! We did the cats paw, the dogs nose (teeth) and mom/dads thumb prints! I’m so excited to put them on the tree! These ornaments are also very light weight and won’t weigh down the branches on the tree!

The instructions say to not open until ready to use, got everything prepped but when I opened the “impression material” it was hard and rubbery. The material was already stale. Could not be kneaded or rolled out. Even had my husband try. Could not be kneaded or rolled out still. Just to see if we could get any results we went ahead and wet the babies foot and tried imprint but no go.They Long story short: first time opening the impression material and came stale - the texture was similar to hard, rubberized laffy taffy.Make your own salt dough ornaments2 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 1 cup warm waterStir into dough. Knead. Let dough sit for 20 mins.Roll out to 1/3 or 1/4 inch (based on your preference)Stamp baby’s hand or foot. Can bake for longevity. Just look up instructions on google for more details.Don’t waste your money on this product.

The circular cutout is big! If you want a “cute” ornament this you’d have to use a different cutter

So glad I decided to try this ornament out despite the many reviews claiming the foam-like material never truly “hardens”. This product was super easy to work with if you simply follow its instructions. I ended up using a glass cup to cut out my 3 month old’s handprint as the included plastic circle was just too large in my opinion. Note: there was enough material left over to make another print if I wanted to. I left the ornament out to dry for approximately 48 hrs. (on parchment paper so it didn’t stick!) and flipped it twice. After that time, the ornament seemed hard enough to put on the tree. Now, 6 weeks later as I am going to pack the ornament away, it is definitely as hard as one of those plaster print ornaments (yet was way easier to make, even with a baby’s prints). I have no doubts it will last us for a very long time. 10/10 recommend for ease of use and the keepsake factor.

Short version of review:Pros: No mess, can roll it out and redo it several times if need to, shows veins and details somewhat, big enough for more than one foot or hand (depending on baby size and age - it's about 6 inches in diameter), not likely to break (it's like playmat foam), everything providedCons: Full price is not worth it, have to press their body part very firmly, and takes awhile to dry (1.5-2 days on each side, 3-4 days total)In summary: Buy it for no more than you have to if going to use it as an ornament, and use the traditional stamping method as well to capture the prints of your child or pet.Long version of review:Ok product. I'm satisfied with it, considering I got it for $5.98 as an add-on item. I don't think the end results warrant it worth being more than between $5-$7. The full price is too much to pay. The ornament is larger than I expected, about 6-7 inches in diameter when done. We have a 10 month old baby and wanted to get his prints in time for his first Christmas. We were able to just barely get one foot and one hand on there. It comes with full instructions and materials needed. (Do be sure to wet foot or hand thoroughly like the instructions say before putting it in the clay.) And yes, you do have to press their body part into it very firmly in order to get an impression that's deep enough, since the clay/foam will expand as it dries. It was easier for us to do this without hurting him since he's older, and slightly more cooperative. He was pretty fidgety about putting his hand on there, and kept digging the tips of his fingers into it rather than pressing them down flat like the rest of his palm. The foot was a whole lot easier - we just had him stand up, with one foot on the clay and the other on the floor. I'd say that feet are a lot easier to do than hands, but that goes for the traditional stamping method of getting baby prints, too. If you're going to do a foot and hand and are sure they will both fit, do the hand first. We had to roll the clay out again once or twice to get a good hand impression (without ALL the finger tips being dug in), and once that was accomplished the foot got done on the first try. You can roll the clay out several times as needed, which is helpful. It does take a long time to dry. I left it to dry on both sides for two days each, and that worked. The blue ribbon it came with is lighter than pictured, which I actually preferred. When you store it, make sure it stays flat as someone else already mentioned. It is like a playmat foam texture when done, so not as likely to break as if it dried hard or were porcelain. I do like the fact it is no mess and it shows their little veins up close, which is something you don't get over the traditional stamping method. That said, it has a lot of negative reviews and some ok reviews. I would say to still use the traditional stamping method if you're going to get this product, and don't pay more for it than you have to. It will be its own special unique ornament for your tree or whatever.

We used these to make Christmas gifts for the grandparents and they were easy to use but after it dried for the instructed time the handprint nearly disappeared. We ended up panting over it and it did turn out really cute. Still a great idea but not as seamless as I thought it would be to get a good handprint.
