I was skeptical about this product. "It looks like a little bottle of oil, how could it possibly keep my pegs from slipping?"I recently purchased a cheap violin outfit to teach myself how to play. I didn't want to spend a whole lot on something I may give up after a week, so I chose this incredibly cheap outfit. Many of the reviews stated that they had major issues with peg slipping, so at $6, I decided to order a bottle of this to go with my budget violin.Once my violin arrived, I did a quick setup and sure enough peg slipping was a problem. Because these peg drops had shipped from another location, I had to wait another two days before they would arrive. In the mean time, I took apart the violin and spent the time to set everything up properly. Properly strung strings helped a lot, but the violin still couldn't hold a tune for more than 20 minutes or so.After spending some time working on the violin, I gave up and waited eagerly for the drops to arrive. Once they did, I ripped open the package and quickly scanned the instructions. The process is simple. You loosen the strings and apply the drops to the pegs where they rest in the head of the violin. The process only took about five minutes for all four strings, but the outcome was unbelievable. I had absolutely NO slipping. My pegs held in place through some rigorous playing and after a couple of days, the violin was still perfectly in tune.I would absolutely recommend this product for anyone with a string instrument. It is amazing.

Easy to use product worked immediately on a pretty hopeless case. A drop on each peg and slippage was all over. Enough product to treat several instruments.

The product works but not initially. Initially I used this product on two cellos on the A string and it did not work. I had to use way more than 1 drop and also do a lot of other things to get it to work, which it did. The first thing I did was clean the pegs and holes really good to get off all the other junk that accumulated over the years. The second thing I did was add more than 1 drop to the two places recommended in the instructions. Lastly, I wound the sting so it was up against the peg box causing additional tension. Also, don't tune to pitch. Tune 1/2 to full step lower and then use fine tuners to come up to pitch. I think I am going to try some other product just to compare but this did work. Also, be aware, the instructions say use in 30 days but I can't image why. Overall, the product does work and is an inexpensive enough price to have in your arsenal. of tricks. Buy it.

My violin’s E wouldn’t take a tune, peg kept slipping, no matter what I did. I bought this and following directions have been able to obtain and hold a good E.

Go for the peg paste instead that applies to the peg like a chapstick. This type leaves a residue and is not dependable.

just followed the instructions and so far this stuff is a lifesaver, does an incredible job at keeping the pegs in place on my cheaper violin
