I've used more expensive paddles, but I have not seen a significant difference between the two. If you're looking for usable paddle and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is a great alternative. Build quality is good (aluminum pole), lightweight, floats, provides good propulsion even with decent technique, and value makes this a great paddle for your consideration. If you're looking for a touring paddles, I would recommend you spend a little more for something lighter, but for general use even as a primary paddle, this is more than sufficient for your needs.Overall, I would recommend this product.

So, I haver this paddle on my Xmas list. My wife makes the purchase and I get it at Xmas Day. I don't open the box, because it's winter. When I do finally open the box to get ready for my Kayak trip, I find I have been sent 2 right paddles. So not only will they not join in the middle, but I couldn't have used them anyway. I contact the company or place that filled this order. Never got a response. So what the heck, I go ahead and purchase it again because I really wanted this paddle. This time I got the right & the left paddle. Yay !! only now I still have 2 right side paddles I can do nothing with and wasted $$. I know accidents happen, but to just ignore it? Well, there ya go.I love the paddle. Nice weight and balance. Strong through the pull and easy effort... I recommend the paddle, just be careful when ordering and check it immediately, in case.

These are well built and cut through the water with ease.I did add a layer of wax to assist with the waterproofing.The color of the paddles are subdued, but I may add a colorful floating foam bob to assign with identifying in the water.It’s overall lightweight and sturdy.I got the longer version for my wider folding kayak and it’s minimized me hitting my knuckles on the side of the kayak.

Old paddle broke on me & selected this one for replacement. Very happy with this purchase - comfortable to use and like the area to place my hands.

Replaced an old set after I lost half of it.Don't open the plastic wrap with a knife as there are soft rubbers on the shafts.

The color of this was great matched my kayak so well and it does great on the water! I was faster than most people with it and it’s on the heavier side but I like that!

These paddles are light weight and adjustable. Easy to use, easy to store. They work very well for me but I am just a casual kayaker.

I didn’t have really high expectations given the price but I was very surprised by the quality of the paddle. The oval hand grip is a nice reminder of where you need to place your hands. I liked it so much I bought another one for my wife’s kayak as well.

These paddles were purchased to go with our 12ft single PELICAN kayaks. They are light weight, and durable. Handle is comfortable and drip caps work well. Nice that they come apart for easy storage.

The aluminum paddles are not heavier than my fiberglass ones and my wife is very happy with it.The only possible downside is that the surface can get coulder for the fingers on cold days.Nothing some neopren covers can't fix. We recommend this product!

I bought these paddles for my new kayaks. I followed the sizing recommendations from both this site and Pelican, however these paddles are too short which causes them to bang against the kayaks while paddling, leaving dents in the paddles and scratching the kayaks. They need to specify the sizing recommendations for sit in vs sit on top kayaks.

Great paddles. Ordered two sets. Lightweight, portable and the perfect length for my tandem inflatable kayak. Although they are aluminum, the paint finish allows good grip. The paddles handle well when using in gentle rivers and calm lakes, and pushes water off quite nicely. Not sure how well they would fare in other situations. Drip guards require a bit of effort to slide up and down but that allows it to stay in place. One suggestion would be to keep it out of the Sun when not using as they will get quite hot! If blisters, rough hands or the paddle handles being too hot are a concern, I suggest you wear gloves when using these.
