Bermuda grass is either the bane of one's existence (northerners), or it's the answer to prayers for something green. For the south Texan, it's the latter. You probably don't need my story, but you'll get it anyway. I'm a confessed grass addict. I had the fancy turf, (Tiff Bermuda grass), and it was the envy of my culdesac. Then I moved into the boonies-- former farmland, clay soil, and water restrictions. I wanted grass--nay--needed it. So I bought Blackjack bermuda to replicate something of a fancy turf-- it just didn't pan out. As a backup, I bought Pennington's Bermuda. The first time I bought it, it grew very slowly, but it still grew. Bermuda takes about 3 weeks to germinate, so my seed must have been an average batch--OR SO I THOUGHT. Come to find out, I just didn't have the right conditions. Here's what you need. 1. Get a soil test and find out what nutrients are missing from your soil. pH is also important. 2. You need loose soil. Cover up that seed with loose dirt, or press it down into the dirt with a roller. Peat moss may work. Long story short, you need seed to soil contact. 3. You need a starter fertilizer with the Bermuda seed. 4. Plant at the right time. If it's too hot outside, the seed won't grow too well. I grew my first batch in October, and it was still scorching here in Texas. 5. You need consistency in watering. If you water it well, it will grow. You will need to do this for 3 weeks. Bermuda is a slow grower initially. Believe it or not, you'll still see sprouting seed 5 weeks later. When I bought Pennington for a second time, it grew like wild fire. Planting right in early spring and the weather was simply perfect. I'm about to buy my 3rd seed batch for my final planting project. 20000 sq feet

I prepared the ground as it should of been. Ground temp around 70* and plenty of water once to twice a day for 3 weeks not even one seed grew!!!! I even put some in a 16"×16" pot for another project and it had zero sprouts! I recommend finding another brand or seller!

Was relieved to see great results as seed came up quickly for bermuda grass. Saw reviews where seed did not come up. I did not have that problem. Even sewed some in a couple test pots and seed sprouted well.

This Pennington Bermudagrass actually did a great job. Each seed was individually-protected in a blue-cocoon of protection. They only bad part was the monsoon I received 3-days after planting, which moved ALL of my grass seed to the lowest-location on my property, where it THRIVED (see photo). At least I know it works, so I can do this all over again...

I’ve used this Bermuda grass seed, and had excellent results. I use the over seeding technique, and use a Scott’s spreader. I dial the spreader to 7 and roll it over the lawn in a up and back method. I usually broadcast this seed when I know a thunderstorm/rain is coming. Water the lawn every other day and you’ll soon have the most lush green yard around. Secret tip- After this grass is growing well and a month later, get a bag of ironite and broadcast it on number 5. Irionite will turn your yard greener that a John Deere tractor.
